I previously said the C7 Corvette, I still would love it as a sporty car that isn't a DD. I just recently discovered the Audi Quattro Concept, and I LOVE IT. Amazing looking car.

Crushing hard on the new RS7. Configured one on Audis website earlier, £114,000 before other taxes or insurance

Dream car updated to the new Corvette Z06. 625 HP and 635 lb.ft. of torque. And a normal 8 speed automatic transmission that GM claims is faster than Porsche's PDK along with the 7 speed manual.

I must say, I am not at all an American car fan. That said, the Corvette is a beautifully designed car, I can't believe GM actually made this car

Nice, I wonder what it would cost.

Found a youtube video about it.

YouTube: video

I would assume $70,000 to $120,000. Im pretty sure the previous Supra's were that price

Beautiful piece of design work. Obviously, there’s some production-unfreindly design elements, but even those tamed down it would be a stunner.

Quite a few folks are saying the FT-1 will be the next Supra - the profile certainly looks quite a bit like the 4th Gen, and overall it has a number of styling cues from the GT2000 (from the 60’s/70s, the predecessor to the Supra).

I’m also hearing the design would allow for an inline-6 (another nod the GT2000/Supra). With Toyota’s history using an I6 and their recent partnership with BMW (the latter doing some fantastic stuff with TT I6s), I would doubt a 3.2-3.5L TT I6 at ~475HP.

[edit: US production and USD]

FYI, the 4th Gen Supra at the end of it’s run in 1998 was low $40Ks (they actually went down in price from the ’06 models). Terrific car, I had a one with a single turbo conversion (~650HP), lots of custom work (paint, big brakes, carbon).

I could potentially be in the market depending on the final cost. Don’t know if they’ll try to stay old Supra prices and be competitive with the 370Z, Corvette, or go more upmarket and price it to be competitive with the GTR, Porsche TT, Z06, etc.

My Bad! I thought they were priced higher! I would assume a $50k base model with as high of a demand this car would be

It’s funny, in the US, the Supra did get over $50K in the middle of the model cycle ... then there was that manual transmission “skip year” in ’96, and when it came back in ’97 (again offering an auto and the manual) it dropped like $10K (which of course pissed many folks off who had paid $50K the year before).

Yeah, it will definitely depend on the market segment they’re targeting with the FT-1/Supra Mark V :D.

I think they should go upmarket, limit production, don’t pull any punches - the Supra was always Toyota’s flagship performance vehicle.

Years [and years] ago I was at a car show event, my car was being used for a Toyota display, and a couple of folks with some inside info said (at that time) that Toyota was considering two flavors of Supra (or name TBD): one to be sold as a Toyota, NA, moderate interior, and a second flavor under the Lexus badge, TT (+100-125HP), ultra high end interior. Never came to fruition, but it looks like they’ve got an interesting alternative - go big on design, power, keep the interior minimal, functional, and don’t be afraid to build something with a Toyota badge and a $75K price tag (see: Nissan GTR :) )

it's a beautiful concept, but sadly, they won't be making it

as for dream cars:
McLaren P1

and i've always had a thing for e30 m3's and datsun 510s.
newer cars would include a Carrera GT and an R8 GT.
I'd like an RS7 as well to haul my expanding family around, our b5 s4 feels a bit small now.

Regarding the FT-1, for production costs, I can see them basing it off the Lexus RC-F frame. Likewise I could see them dropping a turbo 4 banger a-la eco-boost Ford or possibly their V6 from their Lexus IS350 series and possibly adding forced induction to reach better MPG's for EPA standards. They'll probably also only offer their 8 or 9 speed whatever transmission that they put in the RC-F. This and the Kia coupe concept, I really hope both come out. I think the labor of Suby and 'Yota putting out the FRS/BRZ is finally paying off. People want a smaller, front engined, rwd sport coupe. Nissan pretty much had that corner to themselves with exception of the S2000 from Honda. Now we have the 370, FRS/BRZ, Genesis Coupe, and hopefully now the FT-1 and whatever Kia puts out.

ETA: Another option I haven't considered is w/ their new found partnership with Subaru, maybe they could STi it or AWD it. But I doubt a boxer motor would fit in the front, and secondly AWD would ruin the heritage of getting Toyota TRULY back in the RWD Sport Coupe segment.

Maybe an STi version? or an AWD version? The possibilities are endless with this car
