ah , was just going to buy ready done...was thinking someone might have made a version of their drive or an enclosure , you know, made for the Mini but with a FW800 port now the Mini has that....there are loads of made for mini out there but all have firewire 400 as far as I know .....wanting new updated, anyone seen any yet ?

no no there are LOTS of fw800 enclosures that fit on the mini, ill try find one..

I like...any more based in Europe though, shipping would be mad crazy money, no?..and if I had to return it even more...but getting some ideas for sure...says cannot put a 1.5 Tb drive in just yet becaus eof firmware issue...not that it bothers me , I was thinking of maybe 1x1Tb for all back ups of everything` with time machine, probably,....... and then a smaller drive for audio work say 500Gb ??....thoughts?

your 1tb for backups + 500gb for audio work is a great idea! maybe you might need 1.5+ though for your backups, it uses up space pretty quickly.

have you thought about dual-bay enclosures?

I would not think that FW800 is the best choice for audio. Its much more expensive, and if its just audio. I wouldn't worry about it
