Thing is, I live in a very quiet close and for my sins, have configured all but 1 of the wifi networks for my neighbours.

I'm running out of sci if based names....Using something like " Get Your Own" would amuse me, but probably offend them.

How about...." You Have Yours" that might work:)

One weekend I was curious and I opened my Wi-Fi to see who/how many would join on my network. After like 5 hours I had 8 people on my network. So I closed it. The next day I re-named it "Police Surveillance Van 6" and opened it up. After 5 hours of being up, no one had joined it.

Harvard runs an insecure, unencrypted network? lol.
Hey, Harvard is not MIT! :p

Nah:

The Harvard University SSID continues to require registration of the user’s wireless device (MAC address) with a valid HUID and PIN. Registration is valid for one year as long as the holder of the HUID is affiliated with the University. Once registered, the device can be used to access the network without the user doing anything further.

It is important to note that the Harvard University SSID is not encrypted and accordingly any data transmitted or received can be captured and read by unauthorized users unless you are operating on a secure protocol like SSL or VPN.

Here' a good story...

Back in college I lived in a Condo. I was waiting for the cable guy to hook up my internet so I was hunting around for wifi networks to use. I noticed one was an unlocked Linksys. THe internet was slow as balls, but worked. There were some other router names around me that seems to be talking crap, which I thought was funny (one was, "I hate ryan" etc.). So, since I knew the default Linksys router IP address and admin password (who doesn't lol) I changed their SSID to "I suck balls."

I swear to god, the damn thing was up for at least 6 months. I suck balls was online forever. The funny thing was is I bet the people who had the router didn't know much about them (hence the lack of security and default admin password). So I could image them going...wtf where did "Linksys" go? So they went over the router unplugged it, watched I suck balls go offline, plugged it in, watched I suck balls come online, etc. Then, frustrated (or laughing), they must have said screw it I guess I'll have to use I suck balls. LMAO. So when their friends came over they had to tell them to connect to I suck balls. Imagine them explaining that one. :D

My wife asked me what our network was called when I got her an iPad touch a while back. "We haven't changed it since we moved here" (years earlier) I said. She had no clue. Auto join on her laptop meant she had never noticed it...

Also, they might have used wired internet, not knowing their wireless was activated.
