2009 or newer 997, maybe a 997S if I can swing it. Just test drove one and am hooked!

I also see a 911 in my future

----------

How asinine has the pricing become because they changed the 3 to a 4, $75k?

If you're referring to the ///M, even the E9X M3 loaded was in the 70s. If you're talking about the 435i, I don't think it's more than 65k fully loaded which is what the 335i would cost fully loaded as well..

That's gotten insane, $65k for a non-///M 3 series. A lot of people drinking that Kool-Aid.

I agree. It's better to wait a year or two and pick up a lightly tickled 4 series.

But even a CPO one of those will still run close to sticker of a new one.

I feel like BMW in particular has gotten absolutely arrogant and out of hand with their pricing. It's like you go on their site and build a car and it literally comes with absolutely nothing - no heated seats, no power seats, no HIDs, no moonroof, no nice stereo, no leather, no nav, no nothing, there's literally not one thing you would expect on a supposed "luxury" car that comes standard as it should...and then you have to pay dearly to get those things. I know if you so much as want HIDs on a new 1-series (honestly HIDs should be standard across the entire brand in 2013 on a luxury brand, it's a crime IMO to sell $50k+ cars with the same lousy halogens that came on cars in 1985) you are forced to also get the premium package with the lighting package...you can't even get the lighting package by itself, so you have to spend about $5,000 to get HID headlights. F that, and F BMW.

10 years ago the notion of trying to price a lousy dime a dozen 3 series at $65,000 would've run the company right into the ground. The price gouging has gotten utterly ridiculous to the point where I personally would look elsewhere based solely on principle alone. Their ***** stinks, but they don't seem to think so...unfortunately too many people drink the Kool-Aid and think it's cool to spend $1,000 on repairs every other month on brand new cars because they can't even build a reliable vehicle and unlike the American companies, have zero incentive or motivation to bother even trying to do so since everyone seems to trick themselves into thinking the car being off the road half the time is worth it.

BMW pricing has gotten outrageous. Trying to be Porsche me think :D

That being said, cars have gotten more expensive as a whole. Did you know that Toyota sells a $50K Rav4. Fifty thousand dollars for a Rav4..

I agree, pricing across the board has gotten asinine, but BMW stands out as the king.

It's nearly impossible to get something outside of a compact or subcompact for less than $30k, unless it's a bottom of the barrel base model. Even pick up trucks can reach over $50k. Think about that, $50k for a steel box sitting on a frame. No wonder everyone's broke and in debt over their heads.

BTW base rav4 price is 23k maxed out is 28k plus taxes the only thing remotely close as far as SUV's go is the Sequoia which is 43k base. These prices are USD though
And American autos are not all that great either. I would take a BMW, Toyota, VW or any other "import" over American cars all day long

Yep - EVERYTHING keeps going up in price; yet income keeps going down.

This is why the gap between the rich and the working poor continues to grow exponentially. There is virtually no more middle class - at least in the U.S., anyway.

This is also why I will be hanging on to my 2009 E93 for as long as possible. I'ts in excellent shape and has been very reliable, so I see no reason to buy a new one and get into debt again, at least not right now anyways.

That and people don't have their priorities straight which is probably why companies like BMW (and others) just keep laughing all the way to the bank. I spend a lot of time on bimmerpost and it seems to be a bunch of 20-something kids buying $40-$60k cars on lease, spending an absurd amount of their monthly earnings on the car rather than a 401K, Roth IRA, or down payment on a house, because they've "worked so hard."

Then again I'm 29 and drive a Jetta (bought not leased) with an engineering income, so take that for what it's worth. I could certainly go out and lease myself a really fancy car that I could never afford the payments to own and park at my apartment too, lol.

Oh well, at ~$25k my Jetta has Nav, heated power sport seats, Fender premium stereo with subwoofer, keyless access with pushbutton start, moonroof, bluetooth, iPod hookup, etc. After owning two BMWs myself (severely overrated IMO), I learned that value >>> badge, when the badge represents nothing more than a mediocre driving experience anyway.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't mind that M4 posted up above as I'm sure the driving experience is better than the regular ol' 3 series I had, but not at what BMW feels the price point should be. Not even close.

I say hold out for the refresh. It's already been 320 days since the last model release, so it's bound to be arriving soon. Hopefully, we will see a retina display on the mini and I'm certain we'll see a faster processor, so it will handle iOS7 much better.

Two days, September 10 Apple event, maybe???

Not only is it an EV model it is a prototype, read the print at the bottom of the picture. I will search and maybe even ask the dealer I work at if such thing really exists

It does. I've already seen a few on the road.
