Obviously we don't know any details for sure yet, but my iPhone 4 is showing its age and eagerly awaiting retirement at this point and unless I'm really unimpressed the next iPhone will be its replacement I think.
Have the money saved, just waiting on the vacation leave to arrive:

Do the RAM your self if your buying the 27". It's dead easy and saves you quite a few quid.
I don't plan on spending the extra for a body with just a tad more features. I considered it an option, but I would prefer spending that money on lenses.
Good luck. The 2x maintains the stellar image quality of both the Mk II and original 300 IS lens, but you need good light for AF tracking. 300 2.8 IS + 2x TC used to be my "travel combo" until the awful light in the UK ruined that idea. Even here in Australia, it's less than ideal, and I use a 1 series body as well. Now I take my 500 f/4 instead, and the 300 gets left at home.
One of these unless I can get a new display assembly for my MacBook for cheap...

Don't the 5D Mark III and 1D X have the newest AF systems, though? I read people with both say the 300 f/2.8 II + 2x is completely fine for them.
I'd originally been saving for a new 6D to take the place of my aging 5d Mark I when Wacom had to destroy my product schedule:
It's pretty much an personal imperative for me to get one of these, since the chances of Apple ever releasing an iPad with a pen-sensitive, let alone Wacom-partnered, digitizer is virtually nil. It really pains me that I have to have a Windows 8 machine but I'll deal for that kind of portability.

My Crappy Samsung Andriod Phone is starting to annoy me greatly... Been saving up during the summer and working hard to get a iPhone 5S, but I rather save $200 and get a 5C instead. And I'm loving the blue casing!
Also need some new shoes, walking several blocks to get to one class and back to another is killing my feet!

I put 32GB of this in my iMac and the difference has been pretty remarkable. You'll really get used to dock icons limited to one bounce.
