I want Grados... I get tempted to buy them, but then I realize I've been doing a lot of purchases lately that I don't truly need... Anyway, my Bose Triports are still really good.

Im about to purchase one of those bose, but is there any big diference betwen those one and the larger ones, that need a batery to operate

Larger ones have active noise canceling abilities and sound less worse. They also carry a $299 and $349 price tag. Just an FYI do not buy Bose. This must be my 30th time saying it, but I do mean it, do not buy Bose. There is this misconception of them being superb, and "teh bomb" when really they're bass boosted monsters that sound just below OK and have a somewhat attractive design.

Go find yourself some Audio-Technicas, Sennheiser, AKG, Grado, Bang&Olufsens or even Sony, 'cause man, Bose isn't worth it.

You should really try out a pair of Grados. The SR-60 can be had for $69 on Amazon and the SR-80 (which I recommend) can be had for $95.

Laptop and iPod. I'll probably be using my AKG K-271 the most. Amps are completely new to me but probably around £250/300.
There's pretty much no point spending that sort of money on an amp if you're going to be listening to a lossy source (i.e. mp3, aac, etc.). There's also little point spending that much on an amp when you only have £80 headphones.

As Compile 'em all said though, ask at headfi for the best advice.
