Managed to buy the Bose QC 25's for £189 (brand new and sealed) from Amazon Spain. Couldn't resist at that price. Free delivery too. Thing is, they came from here in Britain where they're £269 on Amazon UK. Nuts, right?! As I've previously posted, they are not as good (sound wise) as my B&W P7's (not far off though) but they are extremely comfortable, by far the most I've ever tried.

I hear ya about Bose being extremely comfortable. I still have a pair of Bose AE2s that I use when I want to listen to something but don't want to deal with IEMs or huge over-ear headphones. :)

This just happened. PSB M4U 4 IEMs.

I have tons of headphones but my main cans are Audio Technica MSR7s. They're absolutely incredible value at their price if you like a reference sound with some presence in the upper mids. I use a pair of Audio Technica CKR9s as my main IEM.

Do you think the MSR7s are better than the M-50x?
I haven't heard the M50x and I've only heard the M50 some time ago, so bear in mind this is just other peoples' comparisons of the two. The general consensus is that the MSR7 is more refined overall than the M50x. Has a bit less bass and more clarity and detail throughout. The M50x has a more V-shaped sound with a more reduced midrange where the MSR7 has a very present and forward midrange (great for vocals and guitars). A lot of people have mentioned the M50x having a much more artificial treble that the MSR7 does much better.

The only people I wouldn't recommend the MSR7 to are people who like big boomy bass. Otherwise, they're a pretty amazing value at $250. Very transparent and realistic sound with beautiful imaging and soundstage for a closed headphone. Hope that helps. :)

Do you think the MSR7s are better than Dr Dre Beats Solo2 HD???
Yes, they're definitely a better quality headphone, but a different sound signature as well. The MSR7 is a more "audiophile" type sound that's mid-forward and bright with a fast, clean bass. The Solo2 is a very warm phone with a smoother midrange/treble and a bit more boomy bass. The Solo2 is definitely a step up from the older, really poor Beats phones, though the MSR7 is more refined and better value for the money. That said, if you like a lot of bass in your music, you may prefer the Beats.

EDIT: One more thing to add is that the MSR7 is a full-size headphone (ear cups go over your ears) where the Solo2 is an on ear headphone (smaller ear cups rest on the ear)

Oh yeah I noticed Solo2 have a small ear cup but it looks fine than full size ear cup. I don't want to walk around with people looking funny with full size ear cup. :)

Awesome thread! Always cool to see what people are listening with these days. Here's my stationary setup. I'll have to get a photo of my mobile setup sometime...

Audeze LCD-X w/Moon Audio Black Dragon cable, Schiit Mjolnir balanced amp, Schiit Gungnir balanced DAC.
Not pictured: Schiit Wyrd USB cleaner (fixed ~95% of the crazy sounds coming from my MBP USB connection!)

I graduated from some a couple different Sennheiser headphones and smaller Schiit DACs/amps and ended up with these, likely my end game setup for quite a while. Not cheap, but I can't put a price on the sanity and relaxation they give me! Excellent products from excellent companies that back up their stuff, not to mention everything's American made.

B&W P7s. They're replacing some old Monsters, so the difference in quality is pretty drastic. They're pretty big but comparable to my Monsters. The clamping is strong though; that's my only real complaint.

An excellent pair of headphones (I write as one who owns a pair).

Agree, though, about the clamping; it took me quite awhile to break them inn because of this, and, ti be honest, I still find the B&W P5s more comfortable to wear, especially when traveling.

I thought about the P5s, too, and may still consider a pair to keep at work. Did you register your headset to get the 3 month free membership to B&W Society of Sound? There's some great music on there if didn't check it out. I thought it was a nice freebie.

New Bowers & Wilkins P7 headphones purchased yesterday. I've given it a test-drive by listening to some classic, rock, soul, electro, jazz, old motown stuff and everything sounds fantastic to my ears. I didn't think I'd like the shape of the ear-cups but they fit quite nicely. I was debating on getting either the Sennheiser HD 650, B & O BeoPlay H8, or the Bowers and Wilkins P7. The Sennheiser was by far the most comfortable out of the three. Sound-wise, they all seemed good (didn't listen long enough in the store to truly make out huge differences in sound quality). But the HD 650 also looked the cheapest, what with it all being plastic. It was a tough call between the H8 and the P7 but I opted for the latter and am very happy with my choice.

I think this is another reason why I really like my new Bose QC 25's. They are incredibly comfortable. Been using for around 120 hours now and like them more and more. I have to be very critical when saying the P7's are better, they are but only just.

It might sound a bit picky but another plus with the QC's over the P7's is the inline control. It's a lot better than the P7's. I know this isn't about the sound quality but as someone who takes a few calls whilst traveling it is a nice touch.

At this stage, while I really like the B&W P7s, my personal favourites - for comfort, style, portability, build quality, and excellent audio, are still the B&W P5s. Nothing else I have ever had comes near them.

Ah, no, alas. I hadn't even known you could do such a thing.

My first pair of B&W P5s were bought around four years ago, so registering them now is a little redundant. (I had to have one of the pads & some of the drivers repaired late last year); I bought my second pair around 18 months ago - as a handy sort of substitute, in case anything happened to the first pair.

In truth, one pair always lives in my briefcase, and travels everywhere with me.

I like the P5's too. They are excellent. I just prefer my ears to be inside the cups rather than on them. It's personal preference and both are perfectly fine. I don't think one is "that" much better than the other. I think we're fortunate to own either. Good stuff.

Wireless and compact, so I can just keep the, in my pocket like any other earbuds. For gaming I have a Tutle Beach Elite 800X, and am considering Studio 2 Beats if they produce the colour-matched vesions. Once you go wireless you never go back!

Hi, may I ask for your opinions regarding the BeoPlay H3 vs Bowers & Wilkins C5? Any comments appreciated!

I've owed both,

I personally prefer the C5s. Build and sound are better for me. I do not have against B&O, I'm loving their new H2s. The H3 cable has always disappointed me, it's very thin. The strain relief on the jack and ear phones are poor, always thought the cable might break. Not good really for a £170 pair of earphones.

The C5 Series 2s are excellent earphones. I like the new black cable and the they've improved the remote. The first gen C5s had an issue with the cable turning green. I still own a pair the titanium version.

I've read that B&W have improved the fit with the second gen over first gen C5's, can you tell us anymore about that?
