Did a widget with WidgetPack and Shortcuts, will refine it later. The symbols are just the Apple San Francisco ones. Using Weather, Reeder, and Health actions to get data. Need to figure out when best to have it refreshed. A pain to setup, but at least there's decent documentation.

I’m so used to the way things are, I keep changing back to my original setup. The widgets make Today view see, redundant.

The changes are cool, I’m just not big on change. Maybe I’ll give it another shot, because the widgets are pretty cool.

2 rows of Siri Shortcuts is working surprisingly well for me. Only downside is that force touch no longer works on apps (since they are technically no longer apps) but otherwise, apps are generally there when I need them.

Playing around with a different setup. All the icons are setup through the Shortcuts app. The gold icons are bookmarks for the apps, while the silver icons are bookmarks for actual shortcut functions. I like the aesthetics of this setup, but functionally speaking it definitely has its disadvantages.

Wow love these icons - can you give me a link to find them ?

Work in progress but here are my most used home screens.
1.
- top left is just Fantastical widget
- top right Smart stack (Battery, Pedometer++, Fitness)
- middle left Smart Stack (Weather, Wearher Line, Maps, Siri Suggestions, Photos)

2. Smart Stack - Weather Line, Fantastical, Weather, Battery, Siri Sug., Shortcuts)

Fantastical’s widget was my favorite in iOS 13 and they’re killing it again in iOS 14. Now to wait on the Weather Up widgets and the Apple Weather app will be replaced.

Bit more tweaking - mourning the missing Favourites widget I’ve sort of recreated it with Shortcuts..

Still managing fine with only two icon rows and the dock!

To be honest, I use swipe down search to access apps most of the time (and have done for a while)

I do the same. I have one empty home screen, one page with the apps I need the most (4 rows), and one page with all the other apps in folders.

You could also add each favourite shortcut as a separate icon on your Home Screen with a picture of the contact for instance. No need for a favourites widget :)
