Don't know why you think it's like the iPhone 12 when it is literally the sensor from the 16 ultra wide camera with a new 2 part lens.
Read through the complete X post. And the lens is at least as important as the sensor for image quality.

I read that guy's bs. That's 2 minutes I'll never get back...
A 12 MP sensor isn't the same sensor as the 48 MP sensor... so...
Also, not the lens of the 12 like he says since they made a new lens that they specifically mention.
The pictures from my 12 pro max don't look like the pictures from my 16e. 16e has way more detail.

Edit to add: the only reason to increase the physical size of the sensor is low light. So the 16e will have different performance in that situation. But these are phone pics cooked by software...

How's Night Mode on the 16e?
Random one handed night mode shot out with the dog just now. Will accumulate lots of photos in the coming days as just got the 16e this evening.

It does look clean! I've always like backs of the SE (and now e) models over the Pro or even the regular. The Pros look too busy and cluttered.
Yep! Very sleek with nice aesthetics.

Battery life is also impressive for the size of the device!

Nice pup! Anddd..... Your crocuses and daffodils are a good week or two further along than the ones in my yard in the Rocky Mountains of USA. Your comments are making me think a lot about going straight from my iPhone 8 to a 16e rather than a 14 or 15 Pro.

Saw the 16e at the shop, it still too big for my liking, but prefer it’s clean look over the other models with their 2-3 camera bumps.

However Dynamic Island look nice compared to the notch but its not a deal breaker by any means.

The size is taking some getting used to, for sure. I didn't want to move away from the 13 mini form factor.

I forced the issue by trading it toward the 16e for $200. They aren't making another any time soon, if ever, and with iOS updates being catered toward the new 8gb/6.1" standard, I decided it was time to give up the ghost.

Thank you! She’s lovely and a little nutcase lol. I was using an iPhone 8 for a few months before I got the 16e, absolutely loving it! Yeah it’s lacking some features from the more expensive iPhones, but it’s super fast, great single camera and the battery life is surprisingly very good.

I know it will take some time to get used to its size as well as to FaceID which I don't like… but I know it just matter of time before i'll have to move on.

Hopefully sooner than later the price will go down slightly because €700 is a bit too high.

Thank you! No regrets choosing the 16e. I look forward to taking more photos, especially when the sun decides to come out again!

Looking forward to see more pictures (and videos) in all kinds of conditions/environments, because so far they look very good!

After using an iPhone 8 for a few months it did feel big at first, but after 24 hours I’ve adjusted and really enjoying it.

Mine arrived yesterday - an upgrade to an iPhone 12. Never figured out why, but I had problems setting it up using my old phone...did not detect it. I used the restore from iCloud backup option and everything was set up properly.

Was worried since this was the first time I was transferring ESIM to ESIM. YMMV but the cell company said to use their website or app to make the transfer, not the Apple setup option. Worked fine and took almost no time.

It's faster than the iPhone 12 but I don't play games or watch videos so the speed difference doesn't matter that much to me. Apps open noticeably faster FWIW. Battery life is very good so far. I get crappy data speeds at my house and 5G is hit or miss, but the 16e is at least as good as the 12.

Overall it meets my needs and since magsafe and better cameras are not important, I'm glad I decided to take the 16 out of the shopping cart and replace it with the 16e. I would have wasted $200 for features I do not use.

I am on an iPhone 15 Pro and probably will get the 17 Pro, when it arrives in September, BUT I really love the clean look of the 16e. I hate those camera bumps that keep growing larger and larger with every generation. It's so nice to see an iPhone again with just one tiny camera protrusion. And the pictures posted here actually look really great. I'm really tempted to get one. I think MagSafe is useful, but then on the other hand, I only ever really charge it over night, so it wouldn't matter, if it is magnetically attached or not. Also charging speeds are not an issue. Oh well...great thread, enjoy your 16e's.

Does it do the HEIF Max photos like 14pro? (Pic size around 7mb-12mb)?
