First photo I used a depth of field app called AfterFocus.

A must have app that makes your photo look like it was taken by a DSLR.

No, it's a cheap app that makes the photo look as though it was edited to the eventual aim of adding a basic background blur.

The quality is shoddy from compression, but you get the idea. The night panorama is slightly less impressive.

An SLR wouldn't defocus the ground under their feet, or the foreground.

The over exposes sky caused a little jitter at the top. But I still like this pic.

I find the app rather amazing to allow me to draw in my focus area and leave everything else a blur which makes the photo pop in my opinion and doesn't make it look cheap. Yes one may see it as edited but it really makes the photo look professional in a sense by putting a focus on what you want people to see.

True but the app allows you to choose where you want to focus on. I could have draw the focus on the floor too but I didn't think of that so it doesn't much look like it was taken by an SLR and more of it being edited but I still think the app is amazing with drawing a focus area.

Indoor photos normally do unless the lighting is perfect. Could be a number of things like the time of day you took the shots etc..

I have that night light. It can turn 3 or 4 diff. colors as well as cycle through them which is maddening.

This guy was hanging out on my backyard door sill. Very cooperative posing for me. Came back out with my RX100 and it was still there. Can't really compare with the RX but not bad for a phone.
