That thread was created after this one. It is not the original.

True, but for whatever reason, a lot of people used that thread. It would make more sense just to post there since it's got a substantial amount of posts already.

I started a thread like this too but nobody replied! :p

Here the 4S definitely has more noise than the 5, but the image is also much shaper. Not sure if that's because of autofocus or if the noise reduction algorithm is making it less sharp.

Another daytime scene:

It appears here that the iPhone 5's metering the scene better to avoid blown out details from the sky, or maybe it has better dynamic range? Or perhaps the iPhone 4 was pointed a little higher and therefore more affected by the sun...

Thank you sir! I've been dying for more 4S vs 5 comparisons. Overall the 5 looks better. I guess we'll have to wait for the "5S" for a big jump in quality though.

My only concern is sometimes the images look slightly softer at night on the 5 due to the more aggressive noise reduction, but in the day the 5 is generally as sharp as the 4S I think.

Another low light one

Thanks! My friend was terribly impressed because first I shot the image, then I gently edited it a bit with my finger on the iPhone, then from the camera roll I promptly emailed it to her. She walked into the other room and got the email on her computer and was able to print out the photo right then and there, marveling at the quality of the iPhone 5's camera and the nifty technology involved.....

The technology really is amazing, and especially that we can hold its power in one hand. Then taking into account that just 12 years ago, I and perhaps most people, never would have dreamed this would be possible, it truly is remarkable.

That it is.....

Back in 1985, I took a post-grad course at the school where I'd already gotten my master's, in order to pick up more skills at this new thing called computer database searching. A friend lent me her TI "luggable"and I had it in the kitchen near the phone so I could put the phone receiver on the acoustic coupler.... I fired up the machine, connected to the Dialog database and watched in amazement as the various options for databases appeared before my eyes. I said wonderingly to my husband, "I've got the whole world on our kitchen table!"

Now? Why now, since 2007, I've had the whole world in my pocket or purse.

Amazing, indeed.....

I would prefer to transfer some pics I took of fireside at nighttime, however i do not grasp wherever I will head to transfer the complete footage in their true size?
