Every single person with a brand new battery shows 103-104%. Does apple give us more than the designed capacity to make up for capacity loss over time, or is it more likely to be an issue with the variance of the app.

So you're mad that Apple gave you too much battery.

I love this forum.

Where did I say I was mad you mental midget? I’m asking if Apple is giving us a bit more capacity or if the app is simply reading too high when it’s new.

Since nothing can have more than 100% of anything, you tell me.

I was saying does apple actually put 2850mah in, even though they say 2791 mah? It could be a way to make people think the battery takes longer to wear down. Kind of like a car gas tank holding an extra gallon compared to what the specs say. That would lead people to think they’re getting more miles per tank.

Either apple is giving us more than the stated capacity or the app is reading too high. I’m curious which it is.

I'm on my 2nd iPhone X battery. My guy at the mall kiosk is changing it out every month. So I never have the throttle.

You’re joking, right?

Also, as a general response to this thread, no one’s X is even 2 months old yet. Throttling or not, people need to chill out over battery wear.

104% and people are complaining

Apple gave you something magical. Apple gave you more than 100%

No one is complaining. People are confused on what’s going on, but I don’t see anyone who is upset.

The thing no one knows is if apple adds more capacity than they rate the batteries at, or if the apps are reading too high. I’m guessing it’s the app, since none of these are scientifically accurate due to iOS 11 taking away battery info.

Strange. My 4 years old MacBook is at the same % as my 3 months old iPhone - which was btw a replacement unit from the Genius Bar. Guess I'll have to go in and see what they say about it.

thats kinda ocd, redundant and pointless... like literally. why are you so worried about throttling on a brand new a11 chip architecture is far beyond me.

Hmm, I'd say average. Mostly charge it overnight, not much charging in-between. Can't be bothered since I never had good luck with apple stuff. My watch has a giant burn in, iMac shadows and my MacBook just got a dead pixel last week LOL. At least there's the Genius Bar that usually helps. Will go in sometime in Jan.
