So I downloaded Coconut Battery for my Mac Book Pro and tested out my 3 week old iPhone 8 Plus. I got these results...good right? My battery capacity is at 100 percent.

It says my battery status is at 78.7 percent, but it is actually at 81 percent right now. Why is that reading off?

it means your battery is still more than design capacity maybe 104% capacity and no wear at all.

I think he means the phone shows 81% battery at the time of the test, but coconut battery claims it's at 78%. He's wondering why the app is off by 3%. If it's off on battery charge, who knows how accurate the capacity result is.

Yes that is the question I had...I don’t know why it is off by 3 percent? My battery capacity is full though...like brand new! I used the battery app the thread starter suggested and it showed 104 percent.

I'm not going to obsessively check my battery health or level every day. I'm just going put my phone on a charger whenever I think it needs charging and enjoy it until I get my next one. I've never worried about battery percentage and never had a battery problem.
