OMG! I think I'm in love! PLEASE release this as soon as it's done LEXS!! Lol, I can never stick with one theme, it's always changing every time I come on here!

iOS 4.2.1 and we assume future updates, have altered the way that theme users change wallpapers. BossPaper and other wallpaper changing apps no longer function properly in iOS 4.2.1. Apple has also managed to make the native wallpaper and lockscreen wallpaper no longer function properly for themers.

To handle this inconvenience will require users to manually change wallpaper and lock screen wallpaper until other ways can be discovered.

To accomplish the manual change of wallpapers, users must learn how to ssh and will require the purchase and use of iFile if you wish to change wallpapers on the road.

We recommend that initial setup be accomplished while at home on your Mac or PC. You will need to put all of the wallpaper you desire to use in one folder and do the following:

1) Create two copies of each wallpaper and name them Subject_Wallpaper.png and Subject_Wallpaper@2x.png (Subject_ = the identity of your wallpaper and will be deleted when you want to activate)

2) Once you have all the wallpapers done that you wish to carry, you will need to ssh to /private/var/stash/Themes.xXxxXx/G.O.C. HD_W+D.theme (or ...HD_W+DMOD.theme or ...HD_W+D.theme or the same .themes that say (no dock))
Drop your wallpaper collection into that folder, make sure you rename the default so you do not overwrite it.

3) Decide on which wallpaper you want to use for the moment and ssh or iFile in and delete "Subject_" and leave only Wallpaper.png and Wallpaper@2x.png

4) Respring and your wallpaper should be showing.

5) To alter your Lock Screen Wallpaper you will need to select one of the two Tap...to unlock .themes or Slide(r)...to unlock themes. Path should look similiar to /private/var/stash/Themes.xXxxXx/G.O.C.HDTapAniLS.theme/Images.

Your own images that you want to use should be all named Subject_Default.png.
THE @2x.png double is not needed here.
Again, rename the original or you will loose the cool one that comes with the theme. All other changes are done the same as above by using ssh or iFile and then respringing.

Until another way is figured out, this is the only way to use personal wallpapers with ANY theme. When another way is figured out, then we will update the step-by-step instructions.

ALL of the .themes mentioned above are our weather and/or dock widgets, so place your themes widget.theme in place of those in my instructions.

I do the same but in a slightly easier way.

Before i put the lockscreen theme or widget on my phone i put all the wallpapers i use in the folder with it.

With iFile i then look for 'image:url' or 'background:url' in the Wallpaper or LockBackground.html files, or in the .css file of the theme and find

"/private/var/mobile/Library/Springboard/HomeBackground.jpg or LockBackground.jpg" depending on if it's a Lockscreen theme or springboard widget.

I then change the above to "/var/stash/Themes######/your theme name/then put the full name of your wallpaper here.

Close iFile and respring.


You can obviously do all this via SSH/WinSCP

LEXS, another question I've always wondered but never found an answer to...lol.

If I wanted JUST the slider from the theme you posted above, what would I grab out of that theme? For instance, if I wanted to use that slider as a standalone WinterBoard theme (to select it in WinterBoard for use with any other LS theme), what part of that theme file do I need to grab and how do I go about making it a standalone theme?

(I know...a lot of words to ask a simple question!) :D
 
okay this i probably a really stupid question but i am extremely new to this and have no idea what i'm doing. With OS4.2.1 i know a lot of the lockscreen themes are having problems like for the Lisse for example has the question mark in the middle of the screen instead of the picture. I understand what to change in the LockBackground.html, i just don't understand how to put a LockBackground.png in there. I'm not sure how to find the pictures i want to use. The only thing i can find are LockBackgroundThumbnails and then it is blurry. This is probably really confusing, but if anyone has any idea what i'm trying to say and can help that would be much appreciated.

Make a folder say Chrome Slider from the above download take the Bundles folder remove the com.apple.Lockinfo

So you have
ChromeSlider/Bundles/com.apple.springboard,com.apple.TelephonyUI

Place Chrome Slider at the top of Winterboard
 
LEXS - I want your lock screen setup. I am going to purchase lockinfo but I would like the same plain grey background that you used in the home screen theme a page or 2 back. What do I need to mod?

Seriously, and the support questions quote the same image over and over.
I've seen Lexs black&white car screenshot like 5 times already on this page

How can someone quote an image that already been posted over and over on the same page... with that said I wouldn't be surprised if it gets quoted again.:p

She states that if you want to remove the notifications then remove the com.ashman.LockInfo folder. I WANT notifications and have verified that folder is present but notifications don't show up. What am I missing?
 
Never posted in here yet... Just using the Glasklart HD theme with a hi res green nature shot, for a very clean and fluid look. I had to manually make and add some of the icons for apps that didn't already have a matching Glasklart HD one. Using LockInfo with 'hide empty sections' turned on, Weather Icon and Live Clock too.... Looking now for a good SBSettings theme that would match... I can't seem to find the HD version of the Glasklart one for it. :( Showing only two of my pages... Net/Comms and Office/PIM
