Weather icons and clock numbers from an android widget. Maybe some of you like to create themes with it. Unfortunately I don't have time at the moment.

great, thanks a bunch. Is there anyway this can be used just as a lockscreen instead of as a theme for everything. I really want it just for my lockscreen.

UPDATE: got it figure out, just had to disable the wallpaper.html file. Quick question. the am/pm indicator is to far over to the left so you can only make out about half of the test. What do I need to tweak to move it to the right alittle so I can see the whole word.

If you want a theme to be a lockscreen just change the Widget/Wallpaper.HTML to LockBackground.HTML

LS Blink and a wallpaper I found back in the thread.

Image

Btw do anybody know how I can get the status bar with battery % and operator transparant? And if anybody has a suggestion/tips how to change the status bar into something more clean like the Blink clock I would be so greatful!

How did you replace the black screen with you own wallpaper? I'm unsure how to do it in openssh and i am a new jailbreaker.

As I said in your thread--Blink is an old theme, written before Apple changed the way firmware handles wallpaper. To make it work requires that you rewrite part of the HTML, adding the commands to recognize a new background file. You can't simply add your wallpaper into the folder without that rewrite or you get a black screen.

A lot of older themes are that way. If you have limited experience, it's best to stick with newer ones until you have an understanding of how themes work and start learning the HTML common to most of them.

Ok thank you! Can you suggest a similar theme that i could find in Winterboard?

How in the world are you all configuring this stuff? I'm so lost lol.

Trial by fire. :D Seriously, you learn by doing. You learn by reading. You learn by researching. You learn by comparing "this" theme to "that" theme and taking them apart to see how they tick. None of this is any different than anything else you've ever learned.

And everyone has to start somewhere.

Or you do what I did. Find ONE theme you like and don't change it beyond adding your weather code. I had one on my phone for 9 months. Then that one didn't work any more when I finally decided to upgrade to 4.2.1, and I had to find something else. That was six or eight weeks or so ago (I didn't jump to 4.3.3). I've immersed myself in code and Photoshop ever since.

Anyway--for those who are in love with Blink:

As far as I can tell (I did this a long time ago), I made no mods to this one other than adding the code making it compatible with wallpaper conventions after 4.2.1. You may still need to do different things to hide your clock/etc. This is a 12 hour version, you may need to adjust the code for 24 hour. The original files for lock and black/transparent status bar are still there. (status bar icons are not included, neither is CameraLock or the icon for that) I threw in a random background I had downloaded a while back, not sure where that one is from--if anyone recognizes it, please let me know & I'll credit appropriately.

1) To change the wallpaper is going to vary by theme, but typically the theme will have a Wallpaper.png or LockBackground.png located in the primary directory, and that is used for the wallpaper, just replace that file with your own.

2) For the statusbar, I never remember the file names and locations. I would go to macthemes and check out the iOS releases forum. Look for threads with "Statusbar" in the title. Find some you like, download them, and if you loom at what files they contain its normally pretty easy to tell what files are what part of the Statusbar.

3) Post back here with more questions:cool:

What version of iOS are you on?

Thanks a lot man, I'm going to try them both out right now, I'll let you know if it works!

And I'm on iOS 4.2.8 (Verizon)

Benny, could you please tell me where you got those status bar icons? the batt crown and service symbols are awesome

The Crown carrier logo can be found here

The signal bars and data logo are from a paid theme, 266HD system, but I think someone posted the status bar here couple pages ago.
and the battery if someone can post it again please, I won't have access to my computer for a while so I won't be able to post it in here.

Actually, I really like all the status bar logos in 266hd I just checked it out I'm about to buy it. So I guess the question is how do I keep the 266hd status bar if I want to use a different theme, say noki-hd as my icons and use a wallpaper and setup from a link here in these threads?
