View attachment 674380 Need a little. How do you get the weather to work on this? Haven't used his version In a while
Yahoo changed it's APIs earlier this year. They made them private.

This disabled just about every iWidget out there that depends on the old Yahoo APIs for weather. So, if this iWidget is using the older Yahoo code (and given that Schnedi's name is on it, it probably is) then it won't work.

You'll need to either rewrite the code or find a widget that isn't using the old Yahoo APIs.

all makes sense now. if i wanted to put something there myself like my name for instance, what would i need to change?

Easier to mod a new working widget than to re write that lol..... Hope all is well.... Happy thanksgiving!

Style css is where most of the mods are made as far as visual aspects. Curious what widget it is.... Maybe I can get it working.... Some older yahoo based widgets aren't that hard to convert. Some require a complete re write .....

In the main.js file, scroll down until you see "wait" and edit that to say something else. Depending on the widget style, I normally type "Sarah's iPhone" or my location. Then respring

Edit - here's an example of one I've changed- some will still look weird, because of missing weather icons

All these cool custom icons and setups. Just blows me away Apple still hasn't officially brought Theme's to iOS yet. I'm no Samsung fan, but at least they offer some pretty neat themes, that are easily applied and can radically change the look of the phone. And all done stock, no rooting needed whatsoever. Plus icon packs are a standard thing on all Android phones, easily applied.

Why won't Apple at least allow themes and icons to be changed and applied, officially without JB ?

As someone answered in your other thread…support.

Too many variables of third party software that Apple would be forced to support.
