Yeah I'm hoping it will work out. At school we're using Canon Rebel XTI's and I really love working with them, but I went with the D40 over the Rebel XT because of the larger screen. I'm debating if I should return the D40 and get an XT or spend some more money and go for the XTI...

A gazzillion times better Im not a pro photographer at all but once you learn some tricks and basic stuff you'll get some awesome pics.

Also remember it isn't all about the megapixels, there are a lot of facts I really don't know/care about involved in Digitial Single Lens Reflex cameras (DSLR) that makes them much much much better than the average camera.
