Well, after all the talk we had on here about it, I thought I'd snap a pic of my new Razer Orochi. I ordered it on Sunday night, and it arrived here in Missouri this morning (Thursday).
Sorry for the crappy pic.... I'm currently packing, and thus my Camera and memory card reader are in a box somewhere getting ready for their new home at school. Had to use the iPhone.
First impressions are that it's a really nice mouse. It came in some quite fancy packaging. Comes with a warranty/authenticity card, quickstart guide, manual, cord, case, batteries, and the mouse itself... oh(!), and a sticker.
The packaging is clear so you can see the mouse.
Syncing was super easy. Took about thirty seconds. The mouse has a very solid build. Tracking is phenomenal via Bluetooth. I was able to snipe in TF2 with no problems. I do notice a *hair* of latency rarely. It's most noticable when I'm at a dead stop for a few seconds, and then quickly turn around. I notice it takes just a very split second to perform the actions on the screen. However, it really doesn't hinder the experience from what I can tell... and also, Team Fortress 2 is a very reflex-heavy shooter. The only other complaint I have, so far, is that it sleeps after about six seconds of inactivity to save battery. Which, if I'm waiting for the perfect headshot, can sometimes become a problem if it takes a 1/3rd a second to reconnect to the computer.
BUUUUT.... BOTH of my problems are fixed by using the cable. And, that's why I really love it! I can use it via Bluetooth while working on school stuff, browsing the internet, or playing some light games. But, if I'm gonna take my MBP to a LAN party or something, I can just use the cord!
So far, I'm pretty pleased. Not quite as nice as my G9.... and it's also a tad small (but, it is a notebook mouse, so I can't complain). However, I really couldn't ask much more from a portable notebook mouse.
I also picked up a Razer Kabuto portable mousepad. Pretty basic... but it doubles as a screen cleaner, and it fits nicely in your laptop when the lid is closed.
