^ Well, I wasn't going to go there because a $800 guitar for a 14 year old who can actually play and who has been playing for some time (if that is the case) is not unheard of. Two guitars though that probably sound similar to him with at least a $2k price difference, now that's odd.

Aside from the fact that you're seen awkwardly holding a $3k+ guitar and a $800 guitar (I believe the Dots go for around $3k USD), why both? I would have gone with the Dot myself even though it's neither solid or hollow.

Well... I was in looking in the market for a Jazz, Semi-Hollow Guitar. I had searched everywhere. And two came up at the same time. Well, one did. The Dot. It was 2.5 years old, settled in. And played about 4 times. I bought it on the Spot. For about £1500. Loving it.

The other, well, at the same time, he had the Godin, I had never heard of the make, and well, who has? It's another Semi-Hollow Guitar, and can be played like an Acoustic, it's just so lovely. You don't even need to plug it in to hear it properly. It just works. :)

Oh and yeah, you guys who think that just because i'm 14 means that I can't tell the difference ? Well, I can. In fact, I can tell it between a £500 and a £550.

Um. Aquardly? I had to click the mouse!

Seriously now, um you guys really don't have a trusting side in you do you.

Believe me now? :(

When you were 14 you were living in a different era. Why's it always gotta be about jealousy? Just post what you bought already and shut it!

5 years ago is hardly a different era.

Calm down and easy on the attitude.

And I'm not jealous, I don't like either of those guitars. I'm more of a jazzmaster/Fender in general kind of guy.

I'm just backing MAC PRO DEMON here because he's posting what he's bought in a forum thread where that's what you're supposed to do. I don't like to see people judging him, telling him what he should or shouldn't be buying, just because they think he's too young to afford it.

I was asking how he afforded it, not saying whether he should or should not be able to afford. Nor was I questioning his purchase - everyone loves a new guitar.

Honestly, its a forum where people post what they buy, and then people talk about it...I don't see why younger people should be free to post, and not think they won't get feedback...negative or positive.(this case negative) If someone who was 55 posted they just bought a Hummer, I'd feel free to respond to them and say them he/she most likely doesn't need that car. If they think they have a good reason, they can respond with that. Same goes here. They shouldn't get a free pass because they are young.

So if I were 40 and post saying I bought a brand new lambo, are you going to ask me what my yearly salary is? Is it a coincidence that these types of questions always target the young people?

Anyway this argument is stupid, but in every friggin "post your setup" or "post your purchase" thread 14-18 year olds are submitting to questioning. It needs to stop.

Not what your yearly salary is, that'd be too personal, but more of a "What's your occupation?" type of question..

But seriously, who cares. It's other people online. If you take them seriously without knowing them, then you've got more problems than buying something which other people don't like...

I'd ask what you do for a living yes. Same way I asked a 14 year old child with over £1.5k worth of guitar in his hand how he afforded something.

Age is totally irrelevant. Everyone who posts something that's extraordinary gets questioned regarding how they afforded it.

If something is out of the ordinary for someone's age - like this guitar for a 14 year old - these questions come up.

You do have a point.. still it always relates to money with the teens and comes down to how they are spoiled and whatnot.

Well, i'm a pretty good Guitarist, i'm doing Grade 7 on Classical Guitar and I am equally good on Electric.

Hey, If I can afford to buy them, why can't I! I'm starting to regret posting the pictures on this god-forsaken forum in the first place. :/

It feels alot like heated jealously, but hey.

I've already clarified I'm not jealous. ;)

Hi there.

Well, lets just say I came into some money, and I took the opertunity to use it.
:(

Is everyone happy?

I actually believed you this time. Even if this is a lie, at least you'd have made this one believable, unlike some of your earlier abominations! I hope you enjoy playing them. :)
