I just got a Power Mac G5 for $400 CDN. Its dual processor 1.8, 1gb ram, 80gb hard drive. Im using it as my primary computer, and its replacing my dual 800 quicksilver! I love this computer! It even runs the iPhone SDK :) I hope it lasts me many, many, many years. And to all those people who say dont buy a ppc becasue of SL, its okay, I plan on staying with leopard for a while :)

Just been naughty, ordered a 24" 2.9ghz 4gb ram 640gb hd wireless keyboard and mighty mouse, hp photosmart c4580 wifi printer & apple care. I love student discount. Should have it 12 days time, will it take that long, says ships within 3 days.
Have a good weekend:)

The addition on my house is in the final stages so I started to order some of the furniture for my soon to be completed computer room/photo studio/office/den. Just placed the orders this morning. I am going all out on designing this room as I have wanted a home studio for a very long time.

I currently share a studio with a bunch of other photographers however I dont really shoot studio type jobs anymore and Its a very expensive studio. Its still a lot of money even tho I share it with 4 other photographers. So I am building one at home and giving my spot at the rental studio to another photographer. In the long run it will save me both time and money.

Anyways here are the beginning pieces to my future computer room/photo studio/office/den.

To start off I went with the WorkRite Sonoma Premium Cockpit Adjustable Workstations Desk for my main computer desk along with a Poise display arm for dual monitors.

I also picked up a matching table which I will use for matting and framing. I have wanted an adjustable table for matting for a very long time. I have a bad back and I cant count how many bad back days I have had due to sloutching over tables matting and framing. Those days are gone!!

The control panel for the tables along with the color scheme I went with for the top of the tables, Moonlighting Papel.

For storage I picked up 2 WorkRite 821 Wardrobe/Storage Towers, 3 Safeco ten drawer flat files w/high bases, 6 Safeco B-Size Plan File Cabinet's w/bases, and 2 shelving systems by Light Impressions.

I also picked up 12 optic cubes w/door's from Kartell (4 Opaque Black, 4 Crystal Clear, and 4 Smoke Grey) however they will most likely remain decorative pieces and will not be used for storage. If I need the extra storage I can always change my mind later on.

For computer seating I went with Herman Millers Aeron Chair. I chose the Titanium Frame Mineralite Classic version.

In case I have people over, possibly even clients, I picked up 2 Velocity Armchairs.

I also picked up a Herman Miller/Eames Chaise lounge chair so I can take a break, chill out and watch some TV. I went with the Metallic Dream Cow Leather - Northern Lights version.

Last but not least I picked up 2 Trix seats by Kartell. These things are so amazing and will be perfect for sorting sessions and sitting down at the large lightbox I am ordering as its only going to be around 30" off the ground. When not in use I can just stack them up in the corner. I just love these chairs.

to be continued in the next post..........

Your only allowed 20 pictures per post so I have to finish this with a 2nd post. So continuing from the first post......

Next is a Herman Miller / Eames Elliptical Table. Those trix seats will be perfect for this table as well.

I picked up 2 Herman Miller Leaf lights for my computer desk. Whats great about these lights is by folding them or unfolding them you increase/decrease the amount of light they give off. They are perfect lights for a computer setting. I got the Chrome versions.

Well there ya have it. I am definitely going with a modern look so people who dont like that style will obviusly not like my choces thus far. Those of you who like the modern look, tell me what you think of my choices thus far. Its so much fun designing your own studio. expensive but fun.

You must have spent mad cash on all that. Some serious industrial design stuff there. If you don't mind asking, how much was all of it? I reckon around $12k to $15k, but what do I know.

It's definitely not my style at all, but I'm sure it will look really nice when put together. Take a photo when everything's finished and post it here. :)
