Your Albook as some really bad light bleed. You should replace it/make Apple repair it.

One of these and before anyone says anything - yes I know a new one could potentially come out in June but I couldn't wait!

Could you elaborate? The screen looks fine to mine in person. In the image previously attached it looks different, but it could be the camera I used.
See those bright spotlight-like light places on the bottom of your screen? That is backlight bleeding. It escapes from behind the display to the front and makes it very washed out.
when your watching a movie in full screen, close the lights in the room and stand up, look down at your screen from the top and see if you have those white spotlights at the bottom.

yea the thing is incredible. i have it paired with the McIntosh MC402. im in audio heaven. and the rents gave me the B&W 800D's as a graduation gift.
Linn is fantastic. what speakers do you use?

My total would have been $125.00 for those games. I only paid $32.00. Gotta love the hook-ups. These were some of the games that were on sale at Best Buy for ten bucks. I couldn't make it to the sale but I have a friend who works at the local gamestore who hooked me up.
