the storm is great! i love mine. although the storm 2 looks much nicer and will fix most of the physical issues

I literally just got home from a Verizon Store- one opened up in Westwood Village, and so I figured I would check it out while I was out walking and sipping on my iced coffee. I was able to try out a Storm that was on display, and I must say I was not very happy with it. Of course, if I were to have played with it for longer than 10 minutes maybe I would have ended up liking it. Who knows. I'll play with it again at some point.

Here is what I thought from my 10 minute trial:
-it wasn't as user-friendly as the iPhone
-I didn't like the portrait keyboard. I couldn't figure out how to correct what it thought I was trying to type (I was trying to type http://www.macrumors.com in the browser but it wouldn't let me type macrumors). I would guess there is a way to do it, I just couldn't figure it out.
-I didn't like that I couldn't unpinch/pinch to zoom in/out and that I had to press a zoom button
-I couldn't get used to having to press the screen in

I don't know if it's fair to compare it to the iPhone or not. I just remember the first time I tried an iPhone, everything just made sense. It was easy to use, the UI didn't seem clunky, it was very intuitive. I just didn't feel that way with the Storm.

Just got the 5-disc version of Planet Earth on Blu-Ray. Been waiting a long time for this! I missed most of the series on tv, and the bonus footage will be great to have, as well.

Agreed, I love the storm even with it's little issues (but it is a first gen), Storm 2 is looking rather sweet and has a way better screen than the iPhone (as does the Storm 1).

Not exactly a last purchase (Thursday) but my gf and I bought this cute little number.

Since then it's just been the regular purchases like food and alcohol.

Yesterday and today I spent a total of $1,150 on vehicle maintenance for my truck and my wife's car. Tranny flushes, Coolant flushes, power steering flush w/new hoses, brakes for the car, and another item covered under warranty. Yikes.

I'll never understand why an optical connection needs gold plated ends...

Because there's some idiot out there who thinks gold plated connectors matter on an optical cable and Monster Cable doesn't let ethics stand in the way of making a quick buck or two (or in their case, a quick hundred bucks)

monoprice.com FTW!
