I hope it will match up well in terms of size with my Asus 24" MK241H

My latest purchase 27" iMac i7 with 8GB HD and 15.4" 2.53ghz 4GB 320GB 7200RPM MacBook Pro.

Man, that is just too cool. It really shows the mammoth size of the new 27 inch. You definitely have your mobile and stationary computing needs covered!

Aww man, seriously they have all been like that??? I know this is a bit off
topic, but do you know of any 7200rpm drives (2.5") that I could put in my
Mini that probably wouldn't click?

I am also really interested in getting a SSD. I just wish they would come
down a bit in price! =) I've seen the vids on Youtube... and wow.
I was thinking maybe getting a 128gig SSD, and using that as the boot
drive for my Mini.. and the Passport drive I have still for storage.
I really like having the 500gigs on my internal drive though ahaha.

Ahh weellll... Lets see what Apple does with the Mini this year. I will
probably just throw the ram in when it comes and call it good, and buy a
new Mini later in 2010. It's been a good little machine so far!

I have a Hitachi Travelstar 500GB 7200RPM drive i just installed in my 2.5GHZ MBP, and it is quieter than my stock Fujitsu 5400RPM drive. Way faster as well. Really helps the 4GB or Ram lol.

Hell yah. Thanks. I like the 500gb momentus I have but it is 5400rpm, and
I must say I do miss the 7200 rpm speed. But yah, it's good to see that
people are scoring quiet 7200 hard drives. I will look into the Fujitsu model
when I upgrade next. Either that or I may be going 258 GB SSD =)

You guys think an SSD in a Mac Mini with 4 gigs would be nice? I do
Photoshop and Illustrator work in my classes and I think the ssd would
prove its worth in there.

An SSD would give a performance boost, but not worth the money. It's not like the Mini is going to massively struggle with either of those programs in its stock configuration.

No, I don't think putting the SSD in the mini is really worth it for you at this point. I think the SSD in my MP is nice but it was intended for a laptop. I doubt I'd want to hang onto it for good in my MP due to size. The only benefit are the three remaining drives I have today.

That being said, I put a 7200 RPM drive into my mini and it's plenty fast.
