Still better than Hurt Locker.
That movie is a disgrace to all soldier in US.

I actually really liked it. I probably don't understand the musings or life of a soldier at all, but from a storytelling and cinematic standpoint, The Hurt Locker was one of my favourite movies of the year. I saw it when it first came out, when nobody really cared. Kept me on the edge of my seat, unlike Avatar.

Agreed. I don't know a single fellow soldier who liked The Hurt Locker. We all know Avatar doesn't have some amazing original plot, but it certainly has great visuals.

New 15" i7 MBP to replace my previous gen.

I never get sick of seeing new Macs. They're so yummy!

My latest purchase:

Amazon was offering me a 23% discount on this as one of my personal Gold Box Picks, and seeing as how I'm in the market for one, I went for it. I'll see if it's really worth the upgrade from the DA 50-200mm f/4-5.6.

Thanks to some research and alphaod...found a solution to my harddrive space problem on the new mbp..

So in addition to the 80gb ssd, will be adding a 500gb 7200rpm Hitachi to the mbp via optibay. VERY excited. Seems like the perfect solution to get the speed of ssd on apps and start up, and space for all my media.

Yeah, the only problem is the HDD will run when it doesn't need to, slowing you down during its rev time and possible during run time. Even if ejected. I wish it weren't the case. Makes me feel like the SSD is a waste. :(

Hmm that is interesting. Even if the SSD is in the optibay? I guess I have to test to be sure because it's hard to gather all the data about what the behavior of the computer will be with an additional drive.

+1 I didn't think the hurt locker was terrible and I did like the opening explosion but...just like in any movie the military is always portrayed very inaccurately. The dialog is always too hardcore.

Not to mention the part where he snuck of base. Sorry. Not happening. I worked an ECP for a year as a soldier and there would be noooo way someone is going to sneak off base in a hoodie.

Although I will say they did do an excellent job at recreating baghdad, even down to the crippled cats!

Anyway here is my latest purchase! :D

I LOVE my new Giraffe!!!! He's so cool! I keep him out on my porch :) (Ok I lie I didn't buy the Giraffe, I bought the iPad 3G + Wifi 64 gig)

Don't know. My SSD is in the HD bay so that my MBP can still hibernate. Right now, as long as the HDD is ejected, it usually won't rev up unless I go to Dashboard. Maybe iStat causes that. But it's still a pain to be mounting and ejecting often since I have my iTunes library on the HDD.

I have just won this item on eBay - can't wait for them to arrive!

Supra Vaiders - white, size 12. £33.22 + £5 postage (rrp £79)

Hey, just to warn you, there are a lot of fake Supras about and you should be careful when purchasing on eBay. I would avoid people on low feedback and those who can't prove legitimacy.

Just to add: The ones in that photo look like fakes to me. The tongue on the all white Vaider shouldn't be patent leather (shiny). I used to work for an authorised dealer of Supras.
