So Cal, USA
About $60K. It has all the options. Navigation, Comfort Access, iPod, Bluetooth, Cold Weather Package, Sports Package.
My lease expires in October so I have 2 cars in the meantime.
The Audi is 1000 times better than the Bimmer. After driving the Audi for a month, every time I drive the BMW, I feel I am driving a truck... hehehe
Stay away from BMW. This is my 5th one and the new models break on a daily basis. The quality control has gone to hell. So has Mercedes Benz's. Audi is taking over and making better cars...

Cheers

Patrick

I think you just got a lemon, which, by the way, can be had in any brand, including Audi.

I've had my 2009 335i 'vert (same specs as yours, fully loaded) for a little over a year and a half and had no problems - only routine maintenance. So your statement that the new models break on a daily basis is far from the truth. Audi's are great cars, just like BMW's are, but it really comes down to personal preference. I really don't think the QC is any better at Audi than at BMW. FWIW, the QC did go down at MB for a while there during the merger with Chrysler, but, from what I've been told by some recent owners, the QC is improving.

+1. I heard plenty of horror stories from Audi owners saying the same thing about their cars.

No, no, no... I got the BMW in 2008. 36-month lease. I had so many problems with it that BMW is paying off my last 4 months' payments. It spent way too many days in service... This is my 5th bimmer and unfortunately the worst one I've ever had...
I bought the Audi 1 month ago but I can't return the BMW until october so I now have 2 cars. By comparison, the Audi is much better in all senses. Never going back to BMW...

Sorry to hear about all that! I think you just have a lemon... What bimmers have you had in the past?

The problem was in 2008 with a new twin turbo bad fuel pump. The US has Ethanol added to the gas and the germans didn't take that into consideration.
In 2009 they kinda fixed the problem without saying anything.
I had the whole fuel injection system replaced 2 times. The WHOLE system...
The car shut down on me, while driving, about 8 times in 3 years. That means no brakes, no power steering and no control. Dangerous as hell, to say the least. They are so aware of the 2008 problem that they extended the fuel pump warranty to over 100,000 miles cause they know they have a problem with it. I am not the only one. 5 other people i know had the same problem with 2008 twin turbos...
Still, factory problems aside, drive an S5 and u will see the difference.
Cheers
Pat

The HPF pump was never really "fixed" in my opinion, and even some of the newer 2009-2010 models still experience the same thing. It's a crapshoot, with some being fine and others failing in as little as 3000 miles. I'm eager to see what the F30 platforms bring, but I'm definitely not excited about BMW dropping the N/A 6 cyl. in the 328i in favor of a supposed turbo 4 cyl..

The smooth Inline 6 engine has been BMW's strongest advantage over other better equipped, more luxurious cars. If they put a crappy 2.0T 4 banger they will lose a lot of new customers to Audi, VW and even Japanese brands.

Ahhhh... the original 1Ds... I had one of those in 2003. Still rocks after so many years. :)

Supposedly the all new 1Ds Mark IV is going to be announced soon. 29MP FF for starters... Can't wait to get one.

Cheers

Interesting posts regarding the BMW/Audi.

I know very little about cars so I won't pretend I do haha :D
However, I do own a 2008 Audi A4 and I love it. I have had a BMW in the past and I'm not a fan. I'm looking for a new car at the moment and I went and test drove a few BMW's about a month ago ( X5 & 330 for a change of car really) and I wasn't too impressed. I test drove the A5 which is very similar to the A4 to drive and I much prefer Audi to BMW.

I personally think the interior of BMW is too basic for what you pay compared to Audi. The only BMW I like is the 7 Series (and that is only because of the one in Brooklyn's Finest haha.) But like mentioned before, it is all personal preference. I still have not decided on a car as of yet. I want something which is good to use for around town when I am at University as the A4 isn't great.

Anyway, in keeping with the post, todays purchases:-

Something for my boyfriend:-

Great story to the CPU Cooler here;

I woke up this morning, turned on my computer and went for a shower. Came back to a black screen. CPU Cooler wasn't spinning, thus computer refuses to boot. Pull out my stock cooler that came with my CPU, plugged it in and it spins. Mmmm, guess my Cooler is busted.

Go downtown, buy me a V6, go to the trouble of installing it, boot up... NO SPIN! I'm pissed by this point, thinking my port is busted. I plug the CPU into an extra fan port just so I can use my net and find a solution. After a few readings, I don't come up with any real solution.

Turn computer off... think, what the hell, plug it back into the right port and boot. Still no spin... until 5 seconds later. Starts spinning hella fast. Plug in my old Cooler, spins as well. No idea what caused the glitch, but after noticing my temps drastically lower than they had been with the other cooler, I'm keeping this baby.

Just went grocery shopping myself. UGH!!!

Also picked up some 4x5 B&W negative film for the View Camera class I'm taking along with negative holders for after development. Going to need to buy some paper to go with it as well as some canned air.

Hoping to pick up a couple negative holders on the cheap as well.

^^^oh yuck.

First time REAL cvd's have been released for an RC car, so I purchased a couple sets:

$61.67 for 2

The torn down prototype:

Most MFGs have been calling MIP style universals as CVDs, which is completely false if you know anything about universals...
These will give much better handling due to having no chatter at above 15º steering lock. (RC cars use a spool up front vs a differential usually to pull harder out of the corners, but give stable braking while diving in)
