Final upgrade to my MacBook Pro, replacing the old 5400RPM Hitachi. I really don't know how I could upgrade my MacBook Pro any more... any suggestions? :p

All you need to do now is upgrade your sig. :D
Quick question though...I thought that the max memory the late '08 MBP's could take was capped to 4GB?? I'm planning on upping mine soon and would rather go with 6GB [4 and 2 stick] rather than what I was going to purchase [4GB as 2/2].

I'll change the sig when I actually receive the stuff and put it in :p

Yes, you can definitely do 6GB of RAM on a late '08 MacBook Pro as shown by the attached screenshot of my system info.

^^Santa Rosa chipsets were capped at 4GB of RAM. I have the same.

0_o... and you didnt know that all unibody Santa Rosas can do 6GB of RAM, but only have problems with 8GB?

This page on OWC shows which laptops and desktops 6GB of RAM is compatible with.

A new (AMAZING) snowboarding jacket to go with the rest of my gear and some new googles.

I did get ripped on the new googles though due to my own stupidity : / They were $125 but I clicked the custom button just to see the options, which boosted it to $145 and didn't realize that the options I ordered were already on a default set of googles (which are the $125) until after the thing was ordered :/

EDIT: Unibody Santa Rosa? Huh? The Unibody started with the Penryn.
EDIT AGAIN: AAAAAND I see the orig ? was about a late '08 MBP....oh man, I already need another coffee break. My bad, but the info below is correct for the Merom/SR chipsets...but now irrelevant for the questions above.

I did make a small blunder. It depends on which Merom/Santa Rosa revision you have:
From here:
"The MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo "Mid-2007/Santa Rosa" models introduced June 5, 2007, and the "Early 2008/Penryn" models also use the same type of memory, but officially support up to 4 GB with two 2 GB SO-DIMM modules (this covers all "pre-Unibody" MacBook Pro models with processor speeds other than 2.16 GHz and 2.33 GHz). However, just as with the previous series, third-parties such as site sponsor Other World Computing, have successfully installed more RAM than is officially supported -- up to 6 GB using one 2 GB module and one 4 GB module."
