Got a sweet deal on a 40" Toshiba LCD 1080p TV. On sale for Veterans day only from 650 down to 399. I wanted a little bigger but could not pass up the price.

8GB kit. Slashed prices plus additional 10% off meant it was a no-brainer. About 65% less than what Apple charges.

I've been spending far too much money lately but these discounts/bargains keep popping up. Someone take away my debit card NOW.

Where was the sale?

been having a little tinker with it but it's primary use is going to be to run Plex through the TV, i'd be lying if i said it was more of a want than a need :p

Samsung Galaxy Tab - I sold my 64gb WiFi + 3G iPad when I got my new 13in Air because it seemed silly to have both. I really like tablets for browsing the web and and reading documents though. At this size its more of a computer companion than all out replacement, but I think its great - its perfect sized for just pulling out of my bag real quick, reading an e-book, or watching videos. And when I'm on the road it supports tethering to the Air in case I need to get real work done.

Just wondering, why this over iPad? Seems to do the same things as iPad.

It's a nice looking tablet, though!

Fender Squier Duo-Sonic, my first single coil guitar, and my first Squier. I was skeptical about it when I first saw it, but after spending about a half an hour playing it, I had to have it. Sounds great through my 1970 Champ and is a really nice contrast to my '78 Ibanez Artist. I love it!

I think it's smaller than an iPad, and since he has a new MBA and only wants a tablet for light browsing and nothing more, it makes sense, in his opinion, to get something a bit smaller. He sold his iPad and got the Samsung instead.

You're right, it is smaller than iPad (9.7" vs. 7" screen). Just seems like an odd transfer of products. iPad isn't that much larger.

I was just wondering, what makes the Galaxy Tab better than iPad, in his/her situation.

I may think about a similar thing once HPalm comes out with a WebOS tablet.

As it is, I wouldn't like an Android powered tablet, unless Gingerbread comes out with something much better. WebOS notification and multitasking systems are amazing and Synergy is really nice too. A WebOS tablet could be table enough for me and if I need to write reports and things on the move, I'd probably get an Air.

I was hugely irresponsible with money today and I'm going to see this ****er in February. I think I'll tease my hair and wear hot pink.

Its almost exactly half the size of the iPad, pretty much the same same dimensions of a Kindle but slightly thicker. It also weighs half as much as an iPad so its more comfortable to hold up for longer periods of time. I just keep it in the magazine pocket of my case so when I need to check something really quick I pop it out. I can also stick it in my back pocket at work and carry it around with me to use as a clipboard or look up parts.

For media consumption I no longer have to spend time converting videos to iTunes format - videos, music, pictures, etc... you just plug it in and it mounts as a drive, you drag and drop it over.

Its not really a competitive product to the iPad - the reason I sold my iPad was because my Air does everything it does and mostly better. But the Tab is a nice little companion product. It kind of reminds me of the old palm pilots and handspring visors, a suped up PDA if you will. If there was a 7in iPad I probably would have gotten that, but after Steve's comments I don't think that will be any time soon.

Oh, and as a plus, it has built-in tethering so I can get my Air onto the internet when I don't have wifi. I was already looking into a Mifi or USB card, so why not just get a tablet that does the same?

Well, it's not a purchase but I just have to show you guys the Audessey dock! It's simply amazing. The best sounding and looking (imo) audio dock ever. If you're looking to get a sound dock, definitely consider this one.

^^^Three Philosophers FTW. That's a tasty, tasty beer.

I bought this holster for my iPhone 4. It fits the iPhone with the bumper on it...... it was ~$8. Great for the gym.
