I as well just submitted to receive a $40 PS3, though I have a fat model. Would be selling it anyway though, easy $200 mebbe?

My last purchase has been for the purchase before last. More gas for my new toy, but I want to find 93+ octane for the engine on this.... I found 108 octane, but that's a touch pricey;)

That is sooooo hot. I really envy you. Is 93 not really available where you live at? In Maryland, 94 octane is more prevalent than 91; 93 is at every gas station. In one boosted and built engine, I would run VP's C16...last time I got a drum of it, ONE gallon of that stuff was more expensive than filling the entire tank with 93 :p

(C16 isn't pictured but it comes in the same blue 5-55 gal drums)

IIRC you are in Santa Barbara, so your choices are limited to 91 octane. Since California exports the gas it refines to neighboring states, you'll only find 91 octane there too. Your car will be fine with that octane rating unless you've done something to it that might prevent it from passing a smog test (cams, blower). By the way, I think 100 octane is the highest octane unleaded race gas available in this state. Anything over that is leaded.

edit: Just to be on topic, I received a Roku XD today. I've been using two 1st Gen Apple TVs for a couple of years and I find I don't use my cable box much any more. I don't watch sports, nor am I dependent on current tv series, so I want to save $60+/mo and kill my cable tv (and no OTA is available where I live). I wanted something to stream video over the Internet that wasn't another Apple TV. The Roku seemed to have the best combination of price and features. It will be nicer once Netflix adds it to their target devices for 5.1 sound, but other than that it works well.

By the way, I think 100 octane is the highest octane unleaded race gas available in this state. Anything over that is leaded.

IIRC the highest octane of unleaded gas is 102 from BP so 100 in CA and the surrounding area sounds right. Sunoco has a popular 98 octane, which is also unleaded. Obviously, most cars will see a minimal difference in 93 octane and 100+ octane, and going too high can damage some cars, especially with leaded gas. If the M is not made to Cal-spec (ex: originally sold in NE), a performance gain will likely be seen with 93 if that is what the car was made for. A lot of high performance cars that wind up in CA are made to a "California Spec" which, as many people know, is emissions related...however, it often also involves ECU re-flashes to make the car run ideal with the available gas. Sometimes the compression ratio is even slightly different. Given the age of the car, I am not sure if the above applies however as I really don't know if CA versus CONUS cars differed prior to OBDII systems.

91 octane rarely harms stock performance cars given most have knock sensors, which retard timing if knock begins (and can also differentiate from damaging versus phantom knock). It's also largely why you rarely hear about engines being completely destroyed by 'bad gas'. If the car has been modded, this rule doesn't apply, especially because ECU reflashes change settings (some disabling the KS altogether) and in many high performance cars, people remove the knock sensor and the changes to engine internals obviously affects it as well. One build I did involved removing the knock sensor completely as it was prone to 'phantom knock'. Even with standalone, I wasn't very happy as the system would retard timing when engine damage from knock was very, very low. The knock sensor simply did not function correctly with the rebuilt system, much like how most ABS systems don't prevent when lockup when it comes to substantially larger caliber upgrades w/ aggressive pads.

You probably know all of this but I love to talk cars so sorry for any repetition or rambling.

They don't charge you until they actually ship your stuff though.

Even worse, the order confirmation you received is just an acknowledgment that they received your order offer. They are not legally bound to send you a PS3 for $40. If they had taken your money, there could be an argument that they accepted your offer to buy at $40, and you had performed your part by submitting payment (not just a pending hold on your funds via credit card), thus they are legally bound to sell at that price. But right now all you have is an offer to buy at $40, which they have yet to accept by charging your credit card and performing their part of the consideration by sending you the unit. Best of luck.

To keep the thread on track: Stock photo because I am too lazy to take a picture of my own.

Got it to take my camera gear with me on rides, and books to school since gas is getting expensive again.

Dear Target Guest,

We are contacting you regarding your order #601-3950692-2177827. We recently became aware of mismatched price and product information which resulted in the discontinued Sony PS3 Hardware System and the PlayStation 3 Move Advanced Shooter Grip being displayed incorrectly on both Target.com and Amazon.com.

We are sorry, but we are unable to offer you either of these items at this time and have canceled your order. Your credit card was not charged.
We sincerely regret this inconvenience.

:(

Still nothing from Amazon though.

A new mug for me, some delicious tea and a cool tea infuser for my wife.

The Teavana tea infuser works flawlessly, I use it everyday to brew delicious tea! ;) That blend of tea is my also one of my favorite! I'm not sure what it is but it reminds me of cinnamon. Also good at keeping college students up at night without the jitters. :p Cheers for another Teavana fan :)

I hate that they let them add up over the month and don't just take them at the end of the auction. Always hurts to see them all tabulated.

Yeah they make so much money basically doing nothing.. They should lower these crazy fees since PayPal and eBay are both the same and they both squeeze fees out of you.

Agreed. Too bad there is no other way to make the same money I can make through eBay. Forum marketplaces are nice, but they have no where near the consumer base that eBay has.

Amazon/Target can feel free to ship me whatever they want IF they bill me.

I know I paid for:

ps35.png

Where in the description it is clearly labeled as a Console instead of a shooter:

ps34.png

If Amazon/Target ship/bill me for something other than what was purchased in the images above, then I should be able to get a PS3 out of the deal. I know this order can get fishy, so I made sure to take screen shots of just about everything, to make sure that I have proof of what I purchased.

They canceled my order. I closed my account. Not because the price was wrong and they canceled my order, but because they knew the price was wrong and purposely left that price up for hours and hours after knowing it and then refusing to do anything to make up for it. And their customer service was a joke. I'd rather pay more than to buy from them again.

Even while they canceled my order. No other company has better customer service than Amazon other than Zappos (which is owned by Amazon now).
I love Amazon so much :)

I got the cancellation e-mail too. I figured I wasn't going get anything in the first place.

The funny thing is, if we made a mistake paying target or amazon where it cost us a pretty penny, we wouldn't get any sympathy aside from a tough luck. Amazon/Target makes a mistake, we all say tough luck, we want what we purchased, and they will just laugh at us. I honestly have no use for a PS3 aside from picking it up at that price. I'm refusing to shop at Amazon and Target now too until I get what I placed an order for. They should have taken the page down the first time someone pointed it out to amazon employees. They left it up, They made a mistake, its time for them to honor their mistake.

Sadly they have enough fine print to get them out of just about anything. And i'm sure if the fine print doesn't have anything about a situation, their team of lawyers would fix it.

However, if you looked at the description on the Targets site, it showed the description for the Move Controller, even the item number for the so-called $39 pointed to the Move Controller.

FTR, if you ordered through Amazon (like I did), you wouldn't even look at Target's website. It's not like there was a link to Target's product page on the Amazon product page.

However, Amazon has the right to cancel the transaction due to any error, so it doesn't matter what is on Target's site. If Target tells them to cancel the transaction due to a pricing error, they have the right to do so based on their policies.

That is unfortunate. Even though they made the mistake, I could not take amazon off my list of go-to e-tailers..I simply find too many good deals, and love the service and fast turn around.

I just wanted to see the reaction of everyone who got a Move Controller rather than the PS3.
