Just picked up a refurbished 2.8GHz MacBook Pro (Mid 2009). I really wanted a matte screen but can't handle the high-res on the newer ones. It's a great machine aside from the loose hinge issue.

Thanks, I'm really excited. If I get annoyed with the hinge issue I'll stop by an Apple store but so far it hasn't bothered me. I found a lot of threads on the issue but non really said if Apple fixed the issue.
I'd do it regardless to increase its worth if you ever chose to sell it. Since you just purchased it I doubt there would be an issue getting it fixed.

I tried it with the D3S tonight, but I have to get my eyes used to the 180º field of view and fast movement of large and very close objects.
I tried photographing an A380 (Emirates) on landing at extreme close range and discovered just how violent the turbulence from those things can be.

It is probably the cheapest way to get a digital output from the iPhone. However, it also has its own 24/192 DAC if you don't want to send the digital output to a separate DAC. Additionally, it has component and composite video out. I am not sure if it works with the iPad, but I plan on trying it out, too. I will mainly use it for audio, but I could toss it in the suitcase and use it for video when I go out of town.
