Got some of this in Chocolate. I was debating between Whey Gold Standard and this stuff and decided on this because i've used it in the past.

I'm in the market for that range tele right now and am shopping around. Would you mind me asking why you went with Nikon's 70-300 over the Tamron 70-300? I'm still undecided on which to get.

I was really waiting to buy a 70-200 lens but I found a local craigslist deal on the Nikon 70-300 VR for $300 and knew it was a deal. I had not looked a the Tamron 70-300 at all but have read good reviews. I had a Canon version of the Tamron 70-200 and really liked it.

I got mine today, gotta love Amazon Prime :D

Here's a pic of it.

Is there a reason for this purchase beyond "wanted it"? I don't get it. Not really space saving (actually space removing to me--you can't stack on it). Serious question.

Yay camera stuff for my Canon EOS Rebel T3i (600D)!

How does it look once the car dries? I always hate when I have just washed my car and it rains.

It dries itself spot free with some highway driving, If I stop and it still has water beads I do a quick wipe with a microfiber towel I keep with me. Even the mirrors dry spot free :D

Let me know! I was looking at them on Amazon at one point, i'm curious to see how it compares.

Got mine off newegg for $140. Didn't seem like too much of a hit and I've heard some pretty good reviews about it. It's coming today so we'll see how it goes.

I am an amateur! :D

But seriously, should I not use one?

There's no harm if you use it all the time, except when you're using the built-in flash of your camera, the hood might get in the way and cause a strange shadow. The hood will help block out light that is coming into the lens and causing flare by striking the outer lens elements (the glass pieces that make up the entire lens) at a less than optimal angle. ;)

Might cause some flare, especially on a 50mm.

Huh?

This is my understanding of what the hood will do.

I figured for $5, it's worth getting and seeing how it affects my photos. I like that it's collapsable.

I just ordered a BISSELL Natural Sweep Dual Brush Sweeper to clean up the trail of crumbs that my 2 year old leaves in his path. It's just too much of a PITA to break out the vacuum 1-3 times a day. Plus, he's afraid of it.
