I'm curious how this is. I hope you'll put up a review somewhere when you get it. I think it would be great for travel when I don't want to worry about someone stealing my Air. Not that it wouldn't suck for it to be stolen, but $250 is a lot easier to swallow.

I'll post a review and compare it to my air. It ships Monday I believe and thanks to Prime I'll get it sometime this week :D

Question concerning Windows 8 Pro.. do those who have the "release preview" able to use iTunes? I understand that it is not supported by Windows 8 as of yet, but most of my music library is in iTunes and I don't won't want to upgrade to Windows 8 and not be able to playback all my ALAC files.

Version 10.6.3 runs fine, but after upgrading to 10.7 it no longer works. Video is choppy regardless of source (TV, Movies, Video Podcasts, Trailers, etc...). It made everything unwatchable. There are multiple threads on Apple Support about the problem, but it doesn't appear to be Windows 8 specific, people with Windows 7 are having a problem as well. Not everyone is affected though, so it may be related to specific video cards, CPU's or something else.

One thing to note: when upgrading from Windows 8 Release Preview to the full retail version you have to reinstall everything from scratch, it doesn't do an in-place upgrade. The only thing it will do is retain files you saved in My Documents and such, nothing else. So, if you are not yet using the Release Preview don't bother with it, just wait 2 weeks for the full retail release.

Picked up a pair of Audyssey Desktop Speakers for $80 from woot the other day. They sound pretty impressive for their size. Very happy with them.

I've decided to sell my old monitor and I bought a new one. Was going to see if I could get one from Dell, but turns out Amazon has it with Saturday shipping for $250 less!

Dell 30" U3011
QUOTE]

The U3011 is a fantastic monitor, I have one on my Mac Pro,using it mainly for lightroom and photoshop work, I upgraded from a 2209wa to the u3011, it's the best move I made, after calibration it's fantastic.

Not sure if I should buy its dj app.

So far it's a pretty fun standalone mixer.

Please share the experience. The picture alone makes it look very interesting.

My GF uses chromebooks in her classroom and LOVES them. She brought one home a few times and I got to play a little bit. If you're into the whole google system (we are), it's a pretty capable setup.

Interesting. I use a Samsung Galaxy S Blaze 4G, which uses Google's Android. I love it ever since I've upgraded my OS to Ice Scream Sandwhich. I wonder if they have Chromebooks as a demo display at my local Best Buy. It sounds really interesting.

The U3011 is a fantastic monitor, I have one on my Mac Pro,using it mainly for lightroom and photoshop work, I upgraded from a 2209wa to the u3011, it's the best move I made, after calibration it's fantastic.

My first Dell monitor was a 2001FP. That's when I started learning about the difference between TN, VA, IPS, all the different tech. It was then I was hooked on Dell displays. Since that I've owned the 2005FPW, 2007FPW, 2407FPW, 3007WFP, 3007WFP-HC, and I currently have a Dell 3008WFP.

I got a scratch on 3008WFP a year ago and it's been bothering me since. I doesn't really affect much in use, but smack in the middle, so I see it every day.

My friend bought a Dell U3011 a few months ago after convinced him not to get the U2711 (16:9 vs 16:10); he's been quite happy about it; last night I had a hardware issue (turned out it was my DisplayPort cable) which got me calling Dell about a replacement. Even after finding out my monitor was fine and it was just a cable, I decided what the heck, go for it.

I almost was about check out on Dell.com with a 5 year warranty ($1499), but in the end while looking for potential coupons, I found Amazon was selling it for $1150 with Saturday shipping and no tax. Even though it's only a 3 year warranty on Amazon, I saved $250 which I think is a very good deal.

Right now I'm debating if I should just use the stand on the U3011 or mount it on my Ergotron.

So which starbucks k-cup and what's the name of that syrup? It's hard to read the label.

Do you like your keurig? I'm thinking about getting one to save money

hey I use the Blend House Medium and yeah I was wasting too much coffee so ultimately I think i'm saving money the the Keurig, since I'm married sometimes you make coffee thinking that your spouse will drink some as well and they don't and when you don't they asked why you didn't make enough.

The name of the Syrup is Fontana Amazon sells is (Starbucks is the seller) but oddly enough is cheaper to buy it on amazon than thru Starbucks website.

Good investment.

215 gallons of this stuff at $3.58/gal
First time home owner, this was the first time I had to purchase oil. Also paid $100 to get my burner tuned and vacuumed.

(not my image)

Out of curiosity, how long does that last you? that's only for your heating, correct? or is that used for your hot water, stove, etc?

I live in Florida and our city is one of the few that has natural gas, so if the power goes out, we'll still have hot water and the ability to cook as the stove is gas as well..

They are all great games IMO. I don't think ones personal preference makes them a "real" gamer compared to those with other preferences.
