It really depends. It has is width of 39cm. The depth of the second shelf is roughly 12cm. I probably wouldn't recommend it for receivers, but it does fit both my Schiit Valhalla.Whats the depth of that first unit? Wide enough for a medium hi-fi?

Why? You didn't know these are a scam? Placebos..
You know these things are useless rubber bands with an aluminum plate, right? They don't do anything.
I wasn't aware that Best Buy priced matched Amazon (Thought it was only other brick and mortar stores). That's something I'll have to remember.

Very nice. Are they light enough for general use or mostly for serious walking?

^Toss it. It makes the owners annoying anyway.
However IMO the best use is to get BT installed into your car.
They're lighter than the Lowa mountaineering boots they replace by 500gm a boot. The boots are not light though nor are they boot you'd want to use for just walking. The shank in them is seriously stiff I wear boots like this for the ankle support and stability(I tore an ankle up in Afghanistan). They cost about $250-$300, I could think of boots that would be better for trekking that would cost half that.
