Sonos

Finally bit the bullet and went away from Airplay and went with Sonos. Talk about a great system. One of the cooler purchases I have made in the last few years.

I have had Airplay since the beginning, but Sonos is in a whole other class of system.

Just curious, can you please expand on why Sonos is better? I'm a fan of AirPlay but I'm a bigger fan of good sound and convenience. I'd be interested n haring of Sonos' advantages over AirPlay.

Amazing. Ive not read a bad thing about Sonos. How do they work exactly? Would a sound bar play music straight from an iPhone, or are other components needed?

well this weekend i got an iPhone 5 which i absolutely love! Easy to use and lots of storage for music/apps (i got the 64GB version)..

Been a while since I treated myself but these are much needed .

Stepthen King book is ok so far, Bioshock is very pretty and a step up from BS2.

I was going to spend £80 on a Ibanez TS but after many hrs of researching the Joyo range seems to be an exact copy and for half the price .

I'll let you know. The TV is only 720p so it may not be super noticeable, but I have a smart blu-ray player hooked up with Component video now and I thought it looked terrible in comparison to the HDMI picture from the Uverse box.

Also interested in this, only have 2 HDMI ports on my TV in the bedroom and always have to switch the PS3 and Apple TV's cables

I'd argue that at least it comes with a cable. Many USB devices don't


Just bought one of these, but haven't hooked it up yet. Only have 1 HDMI port on an older TV.

Do these things degrade picture quality in any way? My TV has only 2 ports and in have 5 devices!

Digital signal it shouldn't effect picture quality, if it works it works.

Sonos work via a private wi-fi signal accessed by a Sonos Bridge. Ultimately you can connect the Sonos software to local media, cloud services and direct signal if you'd like. Once connected you can stream the music to any speaker (Play 3/5, connectamp,playbar, etc.) each at a time, or connect them all via partymode.

I have one in my kitchen and office - and i can have a different song playing on each all controlled by software - windows/mac or via app on cell - android /iphone.
