This is what I got for my 9 year anniversary. I got an intel NUC with the low power celeron CPU. I have Openelec installed on the NUC and stream media from my Imac over the network. Plays BD MKV's smooth as butter. I also purchased an Intel 30gig mSata SSD for my NUC. The Picture quality is stunning on my plasma.

She wanted the plasma pro calibrated for her gift. So, I am having a pro ISF guy come out Friday and calibrate my TV. I am getting a day and night mode. I am also getting the 3D mode calibrated. He is also printing me out a copy of all the settings for my TV post calibration. Because, I like to mess with things. I think this will be a good thing.

Couldn't be happier!
Now, I'm looking for nice apps! Is there any site, link or anything that shows the best apps (except App Store)?

How are you liking that combo? I was thinking of upgrading this from my D90 w/ 18-105 lens. Do miss not having VR?

So far, I'm loving it. Because of the cost, I almost went with the kit lens but I said screw it and got the 17-55 instead, and no regrets. As for the VR, I don't miss it at all since most of the stuff I shoot is at long exposure so I'm always on a tripod anyway. If you've got the $$$, I definitely recommend the upgrade.

Next on my list is wider glass. I'm thinking the Tokina 11-16 II.

Got the i3 version last year for XBMC. Best tech purchase I've made in a while!

Next, you're going to want to build a NAS!

It's a Sonic Screwdriver

Um ... for a second I actually believed you because of the photo you posted couldn't figure out if it was a futuristic device from a movie, or snazzier version of those 4-in-1-ballpoint pens.

PS: yes I actually Google searched during typing this, just in case so I wouldn't completely embarrass myself. I couldn't find my way around a tool-box if the entire human race depended on it; my pops is so disgraced by this lol.

The inventor of this is an evil man, but after about 15 bails I'm getting the hang of it.

Wheelman 50CC skateboard.

I'd pay money to see video of those 15 bails. You've got balls man, ooo ooo get the girlfriend to try out and record it if you plan to dump here hehehe. (I'm kidding on that last part; that would be true evil).

Nothing exciting... just a new cabin air filter. Just got home from a 1400+ mile road trip to the south and pollen season was in full force last weekend when we were down there.

Starting a movie collection for my son when he gets older. Picked both of these up for under $20 at Best Buy. Doesn't hurt that I enjoy both of these movies as well, so I can watch them in the mean time :D

Kärcher K4 Eco!ogic pressure washer. I've been thinking about getting one for a while and then I came across this in B&Q with £100-off, so I brought it. I also got one of Kärcher's soft brush attachments for cleaning the car and 5litres of car wash/wax solution.

You know you're getting old when this sort of stuff becomes more exiting than your son's new Nintendo game..... Yeah anyway, I decided to try out the Kärcher WV60 window vac as mine are filthy. Also got their extension pole so I can clean upstairs too.

I also got the new Dyson DC47 Multifloor vacuum. My mate's just moved into a new flat so I let him have my old funky purple and green DC04 upright, and treated myself to this. It's certainly a lot easier for me to use than an upright and a lot more compact.
