No excuses...totally self indulgent purchase which I can ill afford...but what the hell, life is short!
Is that a mood ring?!

My wife purchased this for my birthday. I love my wife. This device is called Auto Tamp. It is a lever style tamper that is calibrated at 35 foot lbs. This compresses my beans flat and even, which gives me a nice strong coffee drink. Apparently I live about 30 minutes South of where this is made. My wife called Todd up and asked to drive up and purchase one for me. Todd adjusted this tamper to my port a filter and calibrated it to give the standard 35 foot lbs. Me like.

Hi. Have you met this guy? If not, you should.

This was cast from a mold made from a plaster casting from the Original Maltese Falcon mold...

EDIT: I just read that the real original prop statue is up for auction...and is expected to sell for about $1.5 million. It was voted (by somebody or another) the Most Famous Movie Prop.

Muvit Spinpad Case/Stand for iPad 2 :)

I was looking for a stand for my iPad 2 and for 10 bucks, this seemed pretty decent.

Hi. Have you met this guy? If not, you should.

Yah...mood ring.

It came in a box of Cracker Jacks. A very expensive box of Cracker Jacks!

Mood ring...ppffftttt!

Could you possibly be suggesting that I am a pathetic, out of control, badly demented sucker for insanely expensive espresso making chachkas?

OK...maybe just a little...

The lighting package from BMW is only $900, which I think is one of the few packages they have that is fairly priced. The poster mentioned that her BF wants to put in aftermarket xenons/angel eyes, but there's absolutely no way anything aftermarket will look even remotely as good or functional as the OEM ones, and will actually make it look like she couldn't afford the xenons to begin with. But really, for the price/headache of aftermarket xenons (which are never very good), she could've just spent the $900 to get the right lights from the beginning. But then again, most people do minimal research and just buy something off the lot, which is almost always poorly or oddly/wonkily optioned.

I was driving through the Mercedes dealer the other week with my wife and they had 15 C-classes in a row, not one had xenons. Half the $50k+ E-classes also had cheap halogens. Baffling that these luxury manufacturers don't just decide to be a leader and make these things standard, halogens date the car and scream base model so easily. Just my opinion, the BMW in question is a nice car but I would've spent money on the lighting package and kept the stock wheels instead. To each their own though.

Nothing aftermarket as far as lighting goes, will ever match OEM. Halogens in general look like absolute garbage. I am on my third car now with HID's, and there is no way I could ever go back to a car with halogens. I would roll hubcaps before I optioned for wheels over lighting.

I think a majority of buyers/leasers stay with halogens. Look at lease returns/CPOs and they pretty much all halogens. And I did. It wasn't because of money. I did it for preventive maintenance because I didn't want to deal with AHL. And anyone who owns a car with one knows what I'm talking. I switched out to LUX Eyes and Philips HID kit and I'm happy with it. I agree that higher end models like the E-Class should have it as standard. But then again why not go LED?

the awesomeness of xenons every night and how much better they make the car look even when off more than outweighs the price of possibly having one dead xenon every ten or so years IMO. especially if youre just gonna swap out the halogens for a cheesy aftermarket set anyway.

I think most people have halogens because they dont bother even doing basic research and just buy whatever they see on the lot. not saying thats always the case (or in this case), but face it most people just buy off the lot rather than special ordering and if the dealer orders nothing but black bmws with halogens, all you will see on the road is black bmws with halogens. pretty lame when a lot of $20k cars come with them standard, theyve been around close to 20 years now.

Here are my two most recent purchases together as one. The shoes are lower cut than I thought, but they are fine. But, I didn't get the horseshoes.

Y'all are funny trying to explain this HID thing- BMW and its dealers want to sell cars and people want to buy cars with the BMW badge on them, regardless of whatever options/models that may be available with few exceptions. It should come as no surprise that less expensive cars sell better than more expensive cars, no matter how small the delta. And if anyone thinks that buyers aren't well educated on the available options, adaptive lighting included, while purchasing a new car at a dealership...please pass whatever you're smoking cause it's gotta be some good stuff

I agree, people want the badge. I am just saddened that people go for the lesser models instead of the AMG or ///M series, because the rest are cheap boorish rides ;-)

The XDm 5.25" 9mm is my favorite gun to shoot, by far.

Too bad it's not a good carry gun (for me). I don't usually carry guns unless i'm out somewhere potentially unsafe and alone, though, so it's not really that big of a deal for me.

I find the opposite that when I was looking most cars on the lot had the HID or LED lights. I was mostly looking at Audis and if you wanted one without the lightning package it would most likely have to be ordered. Same for the couple BMW dealers I went to.
