wow, what an amazingly negative and groundless comment.

When I used to carry my iPad around onsite a lot; I had an otterbox defender on it - ugly as hell, but protected what is an expensive device and was vital to my work.

Ok now I don't take mine out and about I prefer not to have a cumbersome case, but I can't see how protecting a device takes away from its design.

Its still half a pound lighter, and faster than the previous generation.

you do realize that they could just go ahead and build it super rugged if that was what they wanted their product to look like, do you?

apple makes a dedicated effort and sinks millions upon millions of dollars into making their products as aesthetically pleasing as they possibly can only to have people slap the most appalling cases on them in order to 'protect their investment'

it's disheartening

In the end, to each their own, even though it sucks.

Just received this off the forums from a member here for $45 along with an iPhone armband. Neat Receipts Mobile scanner. Really happy with the device and software working better than expected. This is great for the packrat that cannot get rid of anything.

Maybe some people don't really care too much that about the aesthetics? I certainly don't. I protect my Apple devices in whatever seems most appropriate for its application. If my iPad was as risk of a beating I'd put it in a Otterbox Defender, if its just going to sit in the living room then I won't put a case on it at all. There is no single solution.

Back on topic....

Did some research, and found this Bose Bluetooth Series 2 is pretty solid. Needed an actual Bluetooth handsfree device now due to the changes in the hands free law in Maryland. I take quite a few calls in my car, and I am also hoping that this would be good for my conference calls at work.

Wondering if people still think "douchebag" when they see people with bluetooth devices. Hope we have gotten past that lol.

Buys thinnest iPad ever, puts biggest case he can find on it. :D

It would be the most broken iPad ever if I didn't put this case on. I have small children and even with the case on it's still significantly thinner then my previous iPad 4. Griffin also did a great job slimming down the case a bit it's way more flat. This case is why my iPad still looked like I JUST took it out of the box last week after owning it a year.

I think as long as you only wear it in the car and not while walking around the grocery store (or anywhere in public for that matter) you are fine :D

The iPhone is from a month or so ago; but I've been slowly "recompiling" my Mac setup this year. Sold the 24" iMac, purchased a 13" rMBP in the interim while saving for the eventual Haswell release... sold my iPad 3rd gen; sold my mother's iPad 2, so on so forth.

New purchases I've accumulated recently:

15" Top-End Late 2013 rMBP. 2.4Ghz, 16GB, 512GB, 750M:

16GB iPad Air w/ AT&T Cellular:

16GB iPhone 5S on AT&T:

Upgraded my mom's iPad 2 to a 16GB iPad 4:

And I had bought this while iPad-less; not sure if I'm gonna keep it or not. I'll probably put it up for sale... maybe... It's pretty dang solid:

Also picked up some games recently - GTAV, Pokemon X, some old Dreamcast games... but I've really been enjoying BF4. Only have a beta pic; but 4K down sampled to 1080p is glorious.

... With the PS4 out in two weeks; the Xbox One in four; and then Black Friday and Christmas ... my wallet is going to need a long recovery when the new year starts...

Picked up the 13" rMBP with 256gb on Friday night. Now to sell the un-needed 2012 MacBook Air. :D

Also, got a 2013 Kia Optima Hybrid for the wife. She commutes quite a lot these days.
