did you order the SD cards from go pro? I know the Black is very picky about which cards to use.

Mine. Kiehl's has 20% off!

I purchased them from Best Buy, they are Class 10 MicroSD cards, which work good at 1080p res.
If I plan on jumping to 2.7k or 4k I'll pick up an Extreme card.

The majority of my "home movies", etc will be 1080 for the time being and I may go higher later on.

GoPro states on their website that Black Edition cameras shooting 4k, 2.7k or ProTune need SanDisk Extreme or higher cards. 1080 and lower without Protune and any Class10 card will work.

85 f/1.2 II. Slow focusing, here I am. lol.

For a change, I've ordered another espresso accessory...quelle surprise[ :p

It's a Londinium button tamper. In reading the Londinium Owner's forum, I discovered that a gentle tamp works best...and this reminds me not to lean on the tamper as a "normal" shaped tamper does.

Also...the Wenge wood "handle" matches the wood handles on the L1 espresso machine...aesthetics count! The base is solid brass.

So much for all my excuses for buying it...

Wow best looking tamper I've ever seen. Good taste, sir.

Yeah, they had tone of electronics on clearance. Lots of Apple stuff, but nothing else I really needed. Lots of MagSafe adapters, keyboards, ipad cases, etc

Nice, I like to check their computer section from time to time as they will have good deals. I just recently picked up a Logitech K750 wireless solar keyboard for $30 from Meijer a few weeks ago

I saw those on clearance when I was there. Do you like it? I thought about getting one for my dad who has an old keyboard that has a few bad/sticky keys. This, or they had Apple wireless and wired keyboards too.

Yes, I actually like it quite a bit. I use it for work so I do the majority of my typing on that computer/keyboard. I didn't have high hopes as I've always been a fan of the regular style mechanical keyboards but it does have a nice feel and the "solar app" is pretty cool as well.

A 22mm rubber watchband (with clasp) to use with my Pebble Smartwatch:

The only downside to this style of watchband is that you have to permanently remove sections of rubber with an x-Acto knife in order to make it fit... I was so worried that I might cut too much off. Other than that it's fantastic!

Not terribly exciting, but I do really like it!

At first I thought that was a sonic screwdriver... I watch way too much Doctor Who.

Thank you!:D

I think that it is best used for those expresso machines requiring a fairly gentle tamp. For those requiring a hard (35 pound or more) tamp, it might not be the best design. As my machine is best with a relatively gentle tamp, it will work well, and remind me not to lean on the tamper too hard.:p

I must say that agree that aesthetics count; of course, function does too, but that is a beautifully crafted piece……

I imagine that you will derive at least as much pleasure from the sheer physical pleasure of handling the thing, as you will from the simple act of (gently) tamping the ground espresso…….

In any case, I hope you enjoy it, looking at it, handling it, and using it…..

You are, as always, right. The pleasure of seeing and using beautifully designed and crafted mundane items makes the tasks of everyday life that much more pleasant. Whether it's a pen, or a portfolio, or a coffee tamper...the daily use of lovely items makes small daily events a source of small enjoyment and satisfaction.

Surely not absolutely necessary for daily functioning, but so nice!:D
