In a coffee shop.
I just order some very tasty cheeses. Both are firm cheeses...great just to nosh with a few pieces of different salamis. Also both melt very well...good to put on hot fare.

Two favourites of mine. Well chosen, and I would happily join you in sampling them.

(Mind you, I am also partial to Gorgonzola, Comte, Cashel Blue, Aged [crystalline] extra mature golden Gouda, Roquefort, Camembert oozing with dreams of world domination….and so on…)

This evening, I hosted a small gathering of friends/colleagues: This included serving two bottles of red wine, one Spanish, one Italian (Chinati reserve), offering two bowls of olives, two of nuts, a dish of Aged Dutch Reypenaer, another plate of diced and sliced aged Italian Parmesan, good conversation, laughter, my MBA playing 60s music softly in the background, (I haven't yet worked out how to attach a Bose speaker to same; never mind…), and the crickets beginning to realise that summer has arrived as the evenings are becoming more balmy, so their whirring wings sound occasionally, another backdrop to our nocturnal chats in the sultry dusk, while the days are now sharply hot with the sun a white glare in a pellucid sky…...and slightly scrawny cats laid siege to our table in the hope of sentimentality gaining victory over sense as they were seeking an open invitation onto a lap in order to be fed. They have been known to leap lightly from laps to table….

If this is the style you really like, I can recommend a wonderful (seasonal, alas) cheese from the same stable, but even better. It is called Etivaz…..and it is, simply sublime….

Thanks for the suggestion...I'll look for it.:D

And a standing invitation, dear friend, to join me for cheese, or espresso, or absinthe...or any other excuse to share comestibles!:D

But is it lactose free?

Nope...not lactose free, or gluten free, or missing any of that other stuff that folks obsess about and makes food taste like cardboard. (yes, I know, folks who are lactase deficient or have celiac disease have a good reason to avoid that stuff).

Life is to be lived...not in fear, but with enjoyment.

A possibly shortened life, of course, but enjoyed as long as it lasts!:p

 ;) :D

Sorry...it was noted. And if you ingest lactose...I'll be some distance away...a great distance away!:(

Retrospec 6KU fixie. I'm a newbie so hopefully this is a decent starter. Also got some Star Wars lego keychains, they're cute!

Are you familiar with bike assembly? The bike will come partially assembled, but you will need to either do the rest yourself, or have a shop or a friend finish it for you. If you have questions, feel free to PM. Straight fixie or flip flop rear hub? City Grounds?

And where did you get the keychains from?

Ah, why thank you for this most kind invitation. Should my travels ever take me Stateside (strange to relate, I have never been), I will be more than delighted to take you up on it.

I heartily concur with this philosophy of life; a fervent amen to that. Good food, good wine, good company, good music, good books, cheerful laughter, make life worth living (and here, I agree, the quality of life matters much more than some manner of quantity…of accumulated years) along with a healthy disregard for the consumption of all of that tasteless nonsense (and agreed, those who suffer from conditions which require dietary adjustments or have genuine health reasons excepted from this discussion, of course) that has become so fashionable and which strives to ensure that the simple art of gastronomy becomes yet another source of tedious and tasteless, endurance.

Me, I have a simple philosophy on such matters. If I am putting calories, many many calories in my mouth, then, I want these calories to be tasty and good calories. I don't subscribe to the nonsense of Diet Coke, or margarine, or vegetable oil, or alcohol free wine or beer; butter and olive oil and beer buttressed with alcohol for me. Drink or eat the real thing - - not an anaemic substitute - and damned well enjoy it. Eat less of it if you must, but please forego masochism and the loudly-voiced virtue of the killjoy in the name of good health…...

But is it lactose free?

You have my heartfelt sympathy, here. Cheese is one of life's great pleasures, and I am truly sorry that it seems that you must forego it in the interests of good health.

Yup, City Grounds in Irvine. The shop isn't open yet, but I was told I could pick up at the warehouse. Free full assembly and everything. :) Also thanks! I might have some questions about adding rear hubs.

Got the keychains at the Lego Store.

I've been using an old camera bag gifted from a friend. It is a great bag but it only holds my DSLR's body with the lens attached. This became very inefficient due to the fact that I couldn't carry my lens hood, filters, or other lenses. I originally was saving up for the Billingham Hadley Pro, but since I will be going out of town in the next few weeks, I decided that I could use all the money I could get. So seeing as I had $5 in rewards from Best Buy, I placed an order for the Canon 200DG Camera Bag.

Also purchased two tickets to go see Godzilla again! LOVE THIS MOVIE!

Best wallet I've ever owned. I purchased the Hide & Seek for myself not too long ago. I don't think I'll be buying any other brand of wallet from now on. :)

Picked up an 11' Macbook Air with the Best Buy deal, $650 after all said and done :D

awesome congrats. That is so cheap. I have a 2013 13 Air and the battery is over 15 hours long. You are going to love it. Macs at 650 never thought I'd see that now no one really has a reason not to go with a Mac
