I just bought a Mendini violin. I've wanted to learn to play either this or a piano for a very long time. I figured I'd try the violin first since it's easier to carry around. ;)

I know it's not a Stradivarius or anything as nice, but I hope it's a good starter instrument anyway.

Now whether or not I actually learn to play is a whole other story...

Is that cool! You really want to learn to play the violin. I think that is just great!

Good for you, Mate. I really hope you go for it. It’s hard as heck…but you can do it.

I’m really impressed.#

After an incredibly close call with a 32oz cup of soda at work, I decided to buy a Lifeproof Fre case for my iPhone 5s.

The soda wasn't even mine.:rolleyes:

It's a tad early in the season, but I'm preparing for the warm rather.

OK, that's a bit nuts when it 9ºF outside, but what the heck.

It' a Biltmore Monte Cristi Panama...stingy brim pok pie style.

A bit goofy (as my other pork pie's are)...but then, consider the buyer.:p

That looks like a petrol one? Ha ha that takes me back... As kids our first sounds of spring weren't cuckoo's, or the swish of swallows wings over our heads it was rather a weekend of shouting, swearing and clanging of spanners coming from the garage as my Dad would try and coax his Qualcast back into life. Eventually there would be an asthmatic clunking and clanging from the mower and clouds of blue smoke accompanied by victorious shouts from him of "Bloody good mower, that!"

Ha ha, that might well be me this summer:). Ive just bought another mower today, this one is bigger, a Qualcast Classic 43S with 17" cut. It was going for a good price on ebay so I grabbed it. I will be selling the smaller mower this summer, hopefully at a small profit.

Note so self - stop buying lawn mowers!

A couple of questions from a Yank, I've used reel mowers (as we call them over here), both the push variety and a power version (ran over the dog's tie out chain with it), but they had the rollers in the back, not the front like yours, what's the reason for that? Also what is the "device" attached to the front in the pic on the right? Thanks.

Have rollers in the front and back makes the blade assembly more stable and helps align the grass better for a more even cut, I think. I worked on a sod farm for years as a kid, the giant mowers they pulled has 10 or so reels like with rollers in the front and back.

Oooh - that'll be the grass collection box. It detaches by pulling upwards. You dump all the grass cutting in your wheel barrow then wheel it all over to the compost heap. (Otherwise there's a lot of walking). Hover mowers or electric jobbies tend to have the box at the back.

Most of the petrol mowers here have two rollers. A little one at the front and a great big one at the back.

The answers above are correct. This one has a heavy metal roller at the back, and a grass/chopped frog collector at the front .

Ive not used a cylinder mower like this before, but in lead to believe the front roller adjusts up/down to alter the height of the cutting blade for different grass cutting heights. Anyone know if this is correct?
