Well, I'm all set now.

I have the spoons...

I have the proper sugar cubes (dissolve more easily than the supermarket stuff)...

I have the super special glass...

And now have the absinthe fountain...

All I need is for the absinthe to ship!:p

Wonderful news. I found myself almost salivating in a vicarious state of anticipation.

Actually, earlier this evening, I had debated with myself whether or not to request an update as to what had transpired on this particular order……but, thank you, as you have anticipated my post on the matter.

That is a lovely (and most elegant) collection of delightful paraphernalia and utterly divine charming accessories………live life with style……

But, do, please keep us informed…….I await a further update with eager fascination…...

As soon as the absinthe clears Czech customs it will be shipped here. Then the usual USPS delays...customs and general USPS futzing around. The estimate right now is somewhere around the end of the month.

I will post my impressions as soon as I get it. Or at least, as soon as I am able to write after I get it!

I've done a bunch of reading, and I do understand the effect of the thujone from a biochemical and neurological perspective.

More from the subjective perspective as soon as I get the stuff.:D

This, I look forward to hearing. Please, do, keep us further informed and briefed…….in detail…..

(Memo to self: I will never, ever, ever again even sniff, let alone touch, that sublime sledgehammer. Further memo to self: Sigh. But I might……..in some future existence….)

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy……..and I actually think that you will. Again, do please let us know how you find it. I have always managed to get great use (and good coffee) from my various French presses...

Bought a couple of Cree BR30 LED flood bulbs on sale for $12.47 (normally $19. 97) each at Home Depot. So far I'm very pleased the the warm light they produce. I'll be grabbing a few more today before the sale ends.

L Glass baby....

I just ordered my first "L" glass, the 24-105mm f/4 L. I cannot wait for it to arrive. I've been using the same Sigma 18-200mm lens since 2007, and I am ready to mount this up to my 60D and see what it can do. I've read so many reviews of it, that I cannot imagine it being a mistake for the types of shooting I do.

It's a pretty nice lens for general usage, but it's one of the bottom of the line L lenses, as far as image quality. Build quality is top notch, though.

Enjoy your new lens. I'm sure this will be a lot lighter than your usual walk around lens. Make sure you post some shots over in the POTD thread!

I can imagine a glowing nuclear core being lowered into one of those in some sci-fi movie. :p

It does look that way doesn't it? :p Though some may argue that coffee is just as powerful and needed to keep them awake!

Glad to know there are other absinthists here. If you haven't already tried it, give Marteau a run. I consider it one of the best out there today, especially for purists that want vertes with grape spirit base rather than grain.
