Got a Hakko FX888D Soldering Station on the left. Since I do a lot of soldering, it's nice to have another station I can run at the same time with a different tip when I'm working on a circuit board with large ground planes, and small solder pads. Plus, it's nice to have a spare just in case one fails.

View attachment 615982 Just picked up this baby for $20, it is the 512MB version and has never been opened.
Nice :D I have been wanting a new one myself for a number of years now. I bought the exact same version when it originally launched in January 2005, though I had issues with the headphone jack and ended up discarding it (I regret that now). And great price! Where did you manage to find it?

On eBay, I'm not sure the person actually knew how much he should sell it for.

Completed my transition back to Android. Now with the S6 Edge, I got the Gear Fit. It's much lighter and smaller. I liked the Apple iWatch but it just was too big and all I needed was the time and heart rate monitor.

What made you go back to android? I go back and forth several times a year.

I went to Diabolik DVD this morning and discovered Synapse are finally releasing the first of three Dario Argento blu rays, my favorite Argento, Tenebrae. YAY! I have been waiting on this release for years, so I bought 2 copies (which I won't do with Phenomena, and might with Suspiria depending on what's included.)

Also picked up the blu ray of my favorite Lucio Fulci film, A Lizard in a Woman's Skin.

And a Hwang Jang Lee film called Hell's Windstaff (certainly one of the coolest kung fu film titles I've heard.)

Book-wise,

a preliminary how-to drawing book that incorporates a lot of the helpful less tricky applications from Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain and pencils. Plus a used copy of Cinema of Hong Kong and new copies of a giallo story anthology called Giallo Fantastique and Why did the screenwriter cross the road.

OMG... after a month my HK movie posters took a wrong turn and wound up in Massachusetts, they finally arrived. This, after making some serious noise at the post office Thursday night about their ineptitude with another international package. Also the seller threw in a free poster from my favorite Leung Kar Yan movie, The Victim! As the situation with my post office and county sorting hubs has been so bad, I contacted the district manager who emailed me promptly and will be investigating all of the problems I've had with the post office since late last month.

Nice! I worked at a scientific institute where we developed custom electronics for infrared sensors, and in the labs these Wellers were everywhere. Very good stuff, apparently. Is that Hakko of likewise quality?

Mountain Hardware Hueco 20 climbing pack.
That's a real nice backpack. Just curious: 20 liters is not "a lot". Is it meant as a day pack?

So far I'm extremely happy. I've been using Weller soldering irons and stations for well over 40 years, and I have to say this new Hakko is superb. It heats faster, and maintains it's temperature better than the Weller under load. I posted a heat-up video on youtube comparing it to my Weller WESD51.

Word of caution, Make sure you get one from an authorised Hakko dealer. There are fakes out there that aren't any good.
