Well, I didn’t need this

but I purchased one of the last bundles available. Tom G. Warrior’s music and I go back to 1983. I wasn’t expecting much, but was blown away when I heard the first part of this “Reqiuem” (So much better than the original 80s attempt. I would have been happy with the art book and digital download though.) Glad to support Tom though. I hope he considers scoring movies too at some point.

And this shirt? Well, yes, it was necessary.

Snagged one of the last Medium tees. Love these guys, like Tom, they‘ve been in my life a long time* and the vocalist has been a friend for 30 years now.

Always wanted to try a pair of these. They are super comfortable and lightweight, though feel like they might wear out quite quickly. I'm a fan of the fairly minimal design.
I hope you like them. My only pair were the high tops: the shell of the shoes were very uncomfortable, and worse, I tripped frequently in them, despite being my size. They did wear out fast.

Needless to say, I‘ll forego these in the future.

I wore them for a walk today and found them very comfortable, but yes I don't think these will last as long as most trainers. Apparently the tree versions are more durable.

OMG, I have a friend that won't shut up about these, hahaha, I almost scored a pair so I could just say, "Yes, they're amazing, I'm able to fly and pass through solid materials ..."

Really interesting to get some independent feedback ... you know, unless he already got to you ...

New T-shirt. Those over a certain age will understand..

Hahaha, outstanding, I use that line all the time, or some variation of it, me to a friend: "Dude, there's a taco shop down on the corner, best burritos in town, will you get me two? Two. <hold fingers up>"

Sometimes the "two" doesn't work out, like a 2 lbs bucket of fried shrimp, but even then, I say with it in the spirit of Busey :D

Yay adulting!!

Hahaha, nice, our GE Profile was once again, recovered from the brink, just a simple clogged drain line (and several years ago, a smoked logic board), and while I had it out resolving the drain line, I did as much R&R on the compressor, etc., as I could, and it's running perfect.

However ...

When I thought it was going Tango Uniform, I started shopping fridges, I think the one you posted may have been in my top 3 (and possibly sitting in a cart till I determined if the current one was crapping out ...)

One thing we definitely want for the next one, is the option for a secondary ice maker in the lower freezer (in addition to the smaller capacity door unit), I was happy to see several product with that feature.

We use a __lot__ of ice.

The neighbor across the street has a commercial grade ice maker in his garage, two stage filtering, dedicated water supply, does like 200-something pounds a day o_O Trust me, I've been tempted, we could definitely make a few drinks with that kind of capacity (and the ice itself is glorious, he's using the smaller cube size).

I have a pair of the wool runners and the tree runners. The tree runners are by far more comfortable. I have been wearing the same pair almost everyday for a year and they hold up fantastic. Needless to say I will be buying another pair.

They certainly have their evangelists! Having used them for two days, my first impressions are they are very comfortable for standing and short walks, though for longer walks I prefer my Ultraboost (though I guess those blur the line between lifestyle and running shoes). I really love the look of the Allbirds though, more understated than my grey/red Ultraboost.

Are the Tree Runners cooler (temperature, not style... :D) to wear? Found these a little warm in 20 degree celcius weather today, although not uncomfortably so. Wouldn't mind another more casual pair, and the pacific blue Tree Runners they sell look nice.

I was not too happy with our LG one over the years and it finally zonked out on me after year 5. I could fix it for a $1k or go new...went new.

Was torn on GE or Whirlpool but a great memorial day sale and reading a bunch of good things about GE made me go this route. It is being delivered today so we will. This is also our first french door model and as a tall fella, I am excited about not bending down as much to look for items in the fridge. :)

Hope it outlasts the 5 year mark!

 You do seem to have very bad luck with most things you purchase (at least the ones you talk about on MR). Here's hoping that your luck improves as we head into summer soon. 😎

How do you plan on using it. i did some research on it. Seems like a cool little thing for simple productions.

We currently spend about 50 hours/week recording and editing church services for posting on a mobile app and on social media... the ATEM Mini will allow us to do real-time processing of the service, including live streaming, and then walk away from the service with a mostly finished video that we can add to our mobile app and social media. Hope to cut about 40-45 hours of work out with this baby. We're ordering BMD cameras, and some other equipment now to implement the system.

We've been playing with the switcher with our current camera setup and it seems to be quite capable... what geek wouldn't love about $12K in new toys, right?

Well, it's only our experience, but we replaced the kitchen appliances in this house pretty soon after we moved in, so that puts them at close to 18 years old. :D All GE Profile stainless, whatever the top of the line consumer grade products were (at the time).

Dishwasher - crapped out early this year, had been so-so for a couple, probably failing jets, I actually bought new ones, the panel went out, sent the parts back (failed before I installed them), got a new Bosch (it's so quiet ...)
Fridge - replaced a logic board (~$125), but also fixed the old one ($5, replaced a few caps), had two icemaker issues (just generally bad design with the motor/auger hub), got a special 3rd party hub/parts that are way better, fixed for 2+ years, clogged drain, free fix
Oven/Range - no issues*
Microwave/convection oven - door switches replaced (one went out, prevented starting due to safety switch), ~$40 for two (replaced both, figured WTH), a bulb (replaced at the same time, only accessible by unmounting ...)

So a few DIYs, under $200 maintenance across 18 years, and finally, one item with a complete failure (though dishwashers + our water, I'm thrilled with the years of service).

*I have of course doomed myself ...
