Given that car play saves them the money of developing their own Sat Nav, maintaining it etc., yup it is. Nobody wants to sell you anything these days. They want to lease it to you!
Not aware of how Mercedes handles CarPlay... and I read a while back that BMW has stopped shaking their customers down to access CarPlay... can anyone confirm? BTW, my Fords with Sync 3 also allow CarPlay for free.
That's interesting because my wife's Skoda Fabia came with it and I assumed it was the default rather than an option. I'll have to look out for that when we replace it.
