View attachment 2031625Just finished building the LEGO Ferrari Daytona SP3, the latest in their line of 1:8 scale Technic supercars. It’s got a functioning paddle shift gearbox, moving pistons, and suspension.View attachment 2031624

I did the Bugatti, and the pistons move in the engine, but I can't figure out how to get them to move now that the whole thing is built. Hmm...

Fun build though. Love seeing a 'spare part', and have to comb that section to make sure everything is accounted for. It's hard work some times...

Haha. Is the gear shifter in the forward position? Make sure it's not in neutral. Also that the gears were properly aligned when assembling the gearbox.

Back to GPS basics. The iPhone has been a trusted companion for navigation, but it's getting to small for my old eyes and I am pretty tired of my iPhone running low on batteries when driving, so just installed a Garmin Drivesmart including all EU maps.

One of the worst times I got lost was relying on the Garmin car GPS I had. I passed the same airport from three different directions. It was so frustrating. Some of it was the lack of detail on the maps, and some of it was the damn town that was missing most of the street signs, and they had a lot of intersections with two roads going out to the right. I ended up being nearly two hours late, but turns out there was a huge accident on the major freeway that delayed the majority of the presenters so I actually didn't miss that much. Yeah, the accident would have happened about the same time I would have been going through that area so maybe it was a blessing my GPS took me on a wild goose chase.

All that anger, all that frustration, and I could have been stuck like the rest of them idling in traffic, or being a witness to a horrific mess. Funny how things work out.

Pretty expensive month for me, too!

Plus other gadgets, like Philips Hue, Netatmo Weather Station, Eve Room. That's it for this month and it is because I moved to my new apartment.

Nespresso. 🤤🤤🤤

The last Dyson fan I had was the absolutely noisiest fan I've ever had. It sounded like a power drill running 24x7 (it was a heater that was recalled, and the replacement was still quite noisy, sadly) Is that one quieter?

@PinkyMacGodess it is loud, indeed. I think on the spec it says 62 dB. I bought the latest, the TP09. They say also it’s 20% quieter than previous version in their marketing document, but that’s still loud. There is a nice test on YouTube about the noise there also one guy comparing that thing to 15 USD generic fan but I’m scared to have buyer regrets if I watch it, haha

Wow... I was riding the noisiest bike trainer on the market, and could STILL hear the fan running. I finally got tired of it and bought a Vornado fan (that died 2 years alter). But the Dyson was interesting. It did move air, but the noise was just too much. I took it apart once just to see if it was an accumulation of dust and dog hair, and it was surprisingly clean, so no idea why, except for the design of the motor. I had a cordless Dyson vacuum that was also extremely loud, so I've sworn off their stuff until they figure out their historic noise issues. How can model after model be so damn loud and they don't figure out a way to address it. Their motor can't be that precious to keep using it with that issue. The cordless vac, my dog hated it so much she ran to the other side of the house whenever I touched it.

I bought also a vaccum but with cord for my parents last year. Few weeks ago, I also bought one for me and this one is less noisy.

But for me the worst was the Nespresso coffee machine: Inissia, I swear it could wake up the whole street! I never understood why it was so loud (70 dB on my Apple Watch) and of course Nespresso doesn't advertise their dB. So they pushed to buy their new system which is indeed more quiet but it is big capsules, double price. Not worth it. So in the end for the Nespresso I took a Magimix CitiZ and it is not very noisy. This one is 57 dB, I just checked! Day & night!

Am very tempted to upgrade to the 13 Pro Max (currently a 12 Pro Max). But, still on the fence about waiting for the 14. Then again, with hardware deliveries the way they are, the wait might be rather long...
I’m not keen on the punch hole thing on the 14 pro max so decided to her the 13 pro max. I can always get the 14 pro max if it’s that compelling and can get passed the punch hole but would wait until around April/May so I can get a good run on my 13 pro max.

New iPad air for Mrs I to replace the iPad Pro 11 inch from 2018 which had a dodgy USB C connector and wouldn't charge properly. Also bought a 9th gen iPad for my mother as a gift as her 16gb ipad kept filling up when trying to do updates.

A candidate for the Nobel price :) the Meater+ is a fully wireless thermometer with Bluetooth (it's the metal stick), the wooden box contains a single normal battery and functions as a charger for the stick and as a Bluetooth wireless extender. It's perfect if you have a rotisserie or just a grill, oven or BBQ smoker. We tested it today with some steaks and it actually did a great job.

Do you recommend it? My buddy is HUGE into BBQing.
