Lucky you! Had one in my checkout cart and managed to pay using PayPal checkout but the order never went through after clicking the submit button I'm an original PS1 gamer, Sony! Sad panda.

Edit: Seems that it's in "PS1 grey". In any case I'm happy with my black one

Only by the retro color scheme and logo. Only 12,000 were made I believe.

The 15k price was a scam obviously. The average price for them on eBay is in the 1,500$ range. Which is still crazy, but no where near the 15k that was going out there before.

Actually, it's because the PS1 was launched in Japan on December 3, 1994 which is where the 12,300 comes from.

Yes the Japanese do, at least for the outside world. Inside Japan their year starts at Zero every time to get a new emperor.

Right now it's the 26th year of the current era or Emperor (Hensei era). So we are at Heisei 26 or 平成二十六年.

The twenty year old Kenwood gave up the ghost, so I picked up this Yamaha AV reciever. The app is genius. Launch it, answer a couple questions, it tells you what cables you'll need and how to connect them then use the microphone and it fine tunes to fit your room.
