FFS! Stop complaining about Bose stuff, to you they might not sound 'audiophile' in quality, but for others it may be acceptable, I bought a pair of QC15's a while back, love the noise cancelling and to me the sound is great.

I don't want to buy a pair of headphones i've never heard of just because after 200 hours they will sound like the most lush audio you can think of, I wanted to get a pair that to me looked nice, worked well and as it was a treat to myself an item I looked at for a while.

People have their own tastes and styles, stay in your perfectly sounding room with your weird headphones that only have another 65 hours to burn in until they're awesome, i'll just commute to my work listening to spotify on my 6+ with my bose headphones!

What exactly does that do, if you don't mind my asking?

Why so much splenetic anger? You know, it is quite all right if you simply write that you are perfectly happy with the Bose - most people will simply write to say that they hope you enjoy them.

Re recommendations, it seems to me that the vast majority of individuals who recommend a particular brand tend to do so only once their opinions have been sought in the sort of thread which asks for advice as to which headphone to buy, or whether posters have a view on the merits of one brand over another.

Interesting: most reviews criticise the plastic screen, odd front camera placement and generally cheap feel. What made you go to the effort of importing it vs. buying something more readily available in the UK?

It fascinated me from the second I first laid my eyes on it. And given how the exchange rate in this country does us up the arsehole, it actually worked out cheaper to get this phone imported than to get say a Moto G (it's closest rival) from the local shop.

And having used the phone for a couple of hours I've come out with a very different experience to what your reviewers have said. I was surprised at how well built it was when unboxing it, way more premium feeling than anything Samsung do, and a lot less 'plastic-y' than the Moto G. And the camera placement doesn't really bother me as I hardly ever use the front camera anyway.

It's a phone!

I've owned a pair for years. Had to replace the earpads a few times. Other than that, I think you made a wise decision. BTW, I owned the Sennheiser HD280's. Ended up selling them, but kept the Sony's

Excellent! Glad to hear you like them too. I think they'll be delivered today. All I want them for is to listen to music or movies on the iPhone and iPad.

Haven't posted in this thread in a very long while, but yesterday was my birthday and I was snagging some pics of my things, anyway.

Girlfriend took me out for a nice steak dinner the night before... I was absolutely stuffed; my to-go box was about three pounds.

And she bought me some new shoes! I've wanted a pair of loafers for a while - she absolutely nailed what I was looking for. This is my fifth pair of AEs. She hooked me up with the extra set of shoe trees, I splurged on the matching belt yesterday.

She also signed me up for a "Sock-of-the-Month" club; my first pair actually happened to arrive on my birthday.

Mom took me out for pizza last night, and hooked me up with a Creative Cloud-linked Moleskine notebook :)

And then I splurged a little bit on new shoes tonight. The LeBron denims are for the office, and the FlyKnits are for my trip to DisneyWorld next week!

Oh, and a friend from work got me this:

And while it's been a while, I imagine the folks here would really like to see this Christmas gift I got last month from my mother:

Fair enough. always got to take reviews with a pinch of salt. ;)

I've been wanting to simplify my 3 screen setup for a while, without sacrificing real estate, and have been drooling over this since I heard about it. Jumped on a "Back to School" special at my favourite local computer shop this afternoon.

Oh, and #DatBezel.

Will we see a video on it? :D

I got tired of the crap screen on my Tab 4 so I bought a refurbished iPad mini 2. I'm excited.

I picked up a new iGrill2 to replace my older 1st gen iGrill.
I mainly use them when smoking briskets on the big green egg.

I'm just one that likes to see numbers and learn from it. I usually cook 2 at a time and the newer iGrill has 4 temp probes as opposed to just 2 probes on the 1st gen. So I keep track of my internal grill temps right at the briskets and probes to take internal temps of the flat and the point.
Since I've learn to cook by temperature rather than trying to time it, my food quality has increased as well as consistency.
You could have 2 pieces of meat that cook totally different. If you think "I'll just smoke them for 10 hrs" you may have an overdone dried out meteorite or a juicy slab of meaty heaven, it may take 6 hrs it may take 13. Just cook by internal temps.

Three birds with one metaphorical stone :
1. Gigabit Ethernet
2. More USB 3 ports
3. Frees up a Thunderbolt port for an external monitor

It's also PnP under BootCamp - TB Ethernet isn't hot pluggable under Windows.

Fiji Water, 24 pack. It's crazy expensive here in Europe, 40 € for this!
