Did you get that TV yet, and if so, how do you like it?

The picture quality, brightness, blacks and slimness of the KS8000 is incredibly good. 4K content looks great, but not when there's a lot of action going on. I was surprised to find that when turning up clarity or the soap opera effect to reduce motion blur, there's a lot of motion interpolation going on just like on cheap 4K sets in fast moving objects. But if you hate this smooth 60fps effect (which I don't), you'll really like this TV. That said, off-axis viewing angles are really bad. So at the end of the day, you really can't go wrong with LG's OLED offering. So don't listen to Rtings.com like I have =/

Also, the OS can at times be sluggish and even lock up on you. I think LG does a much better job at this than Samsung by using Android TV.

Thanks for the feedback.

I still have two 'dumb TV's' and like each of them. One is a 32" Samsung 720p which I bought in 2008 or 2009. The other is a 42" LG 1080p which I bought in 2011. The LG is a 60hz refresh rate and I searched high and low for a TV with that because every TV I saw with the 120hz or 240hz upscaling looked terrible to me. A friend of mine has a junky JVC with the upscaling and the motion blur is horrendous. I don't know how he and his wife can stand watching it.

I've been watching the Samsung UN55JU7100 since just before Prime Day and it's still $1,600. It did drop down by 17% for a couple of days after Prime Day. It's supposed to be one of the top TV's according to The Wire Cutter. I'll keep watching the price as Black Friday/Cyber Monday approach.

Apple 12" MacBook (Early 2015, Space Gray)
1.3GHz

So far I am loving this little beast, I already have a Mac Pro and a rMBP, but I wanted something small and portable for when I am away on shorter trips, or just going to Starbucks.
