Just finished building the Lego Roller Coaster 10261 -

I will be adding power functions to the Roller Coaster, so I don't have to hand crank it. I will be taking better videos of the Roller Coaster and I have some interesting ideas with the videos as well. I am going to add the Roller Coaster to Ferris Wheel and Carousel that I already have. I know the Roller Coaster is expensive, but this just completes the Amusement Park theme. I do have to say this thing is huge. I am definitely an AFOL (Adult Fan of Lego).

Latest big purchase was the Farer Lander timepiece. I also just purchased some additional leather straps in brown so I can switch things up every so often.

Got myself some more keyboard goodness. I think (nearly) every keyboard enthusiast who's tried Topre switches can't go back to some Cherry MX/Kalih/Gateron switches. Ever. They are just so good for when you need to spend hours upon hours typing away.

Anyhow:

I like the stucco. Might have to check them out in a shop.

Seemingly counter to the purpose of this thread, I sold something in order to buy something.
Sold my 2014 MBP and an old iPad. Was going to go for a new 10.5” IPP, but am now thinking I may update my 2010 27” iMac with something newer, instead. My iPad Air 2 works really well, so...
Will report back when I actually buy something.

Wow, that thing deserves to be in a fine art museum.

I find my SuperDrive a little temperamental at times, and I would consider myself a fan of Astell & Kern, the quality of the materials and construction and the sheer quality of the actual product.

Earlier this year, fearing that iPods (the iPod Touch to be precise, as the Classic was murdered some years ago) would be discontinued, and desiring a device that solely played music, I ordered the A&K SP1000 which is stunning.

Anyway, since I posted the above, I have actually placed the order, and they shall let me know when they expect to be able to dispatch it.

It does look quite striking.

Yes, it does, doesn't it?

My SuperDrive - which plays CDs perfectly well, can sometimes throw a tantrum if it is asked to rip (and/or burn - I send CDs I have put together to friends who return the compliment) a large number (anything more than four or five at a time) of CDs.

The problem is that, very often, I only sit down to attend to ripping/burning several CDs - say, well over twenty CDs, stuff that I would have ordered over the previous two or three months and would have arrived while I was abroad - in one sitting, usually a night or two before I am due to return to wherever it is I am working at the time. After ripping six or seven CDs, fatigue or a temperamental strop can set in on the part of the SuperDrive.

Anyway, as with their mp3 players, this is designed only - and solely - to rip and burn CDs, so I assume (knowing Astell & Kerns's reputation for superbly built and stunning devices) that it will do that every well.

However, I won't be taking delivery of it for at least a week or two; it has to be ordered, and the store I dealt today will let me know when they expect it to ship.

Plus, this should take some of the iTunes nightmare out of ripping CDs; that - using iTunes for CDs - used to be an amazingly pleasant, seamless, experience. Not any longer, alas.

Oh, hey: That is exquisite. That is just gorgeous. Does it cut as well as it looks? What sort of price does such a thing cost in your part of the world?

I have two beautifully balanced - amazingly balanced in the hand - Japanese knives and they are superb and a pure pleasure to work with, glorious wooden handles and all.

Well wear and enjoy using it.
