One at work. One at home is what I do. And as my late 2018 Mac mini just died looks like I’ll be needing them!
That's a pretty easy approach for a lot of people (just need to remember to take it with you). Doesn't work for everyone though - my office is just a room in my house.

Curious, is there a reason why this is better than using Time Machine?

Did you buy the software itself or the monthly subscription?

Time Machine only backs up locally, so it can't be compared to a cloud backup service like Arq. They're complimentary. Experts recommend both a local backup and a cloud backup.

Arq Cloud Backup has 1 TB Wasabi cloud storage included in the software subscription at 5.99/month or 59.99/year (unlimited computers). You can pay for additional TBs for $5.99/month each. There's also a 30-day free trial available.

There's a more advanced, customizable stand-alone client called just Arq, but it doesn't come with the included Wasabi cloud storage. It's also more challenging to set up for the non-techies.

Also, there's the fact that both Arq products never remove macOS related extended metadata on upload, whereas competitors like Backblaze strip those out of your files. That's a big no-no for me, cause I use Finder's color labels extensively.

You aren't bothered that the flat cables have no shielding?

I've been looking for pre-made short cables with 90º RJ45's (which I didn't even know existed until a few months ago) but all I find here is flat cables, which I discovered have no shielding in them.

No not really. It is only to run around a room to connect to a printer, as the wireless in the printer wasn't reliable, and since installing the thin cable everything seems to be working perfect ;)

My new toy. Ordered it before the announcement of the very expensive new iPad Magic keyboard.

I've been wanting a backlit keyboard for my iPP, and thought I'd give this inexpensive mechanical one a try.

If you are going with the minimal thing, it's not a bad option.

I picked up a Shiftpod Mini last week and I've been waiting to set it up and inspect it to ensure there's no damage.

My new home away from home when I go camping - I typically prefer winter camping and this will provide more room and better insulation. Its not a backpacking tent, so this is more about being at a campsite of not too much into the woods.

Setting up was a breeze, a lot easier then my old tent, and breaking down seems to be just as good. I wanted something that could breakdown with not too much effort as I'm usually breaking camp when the temps are in the teens if not lower.

There's nothing wrong with the corner, that's door that just happened to be folded inwards a bit :)

Looks like it belongs on the moon! Enjoy your camping. In the meantime, mow that grass!

LOL, the grass isn't long enough yet - its not to my knees :p

Yeah, its a futuristic sort of thing, but it looks like it will be better then a traditional tent.

A 1.5m (59 inch) "snake catcher", to catch and dispose of tokay geckos on the house. (yes I do mean "on").

Following on from this, and because the little ****ers are only out at night, I found a bicycle torch-mount and miniature torch, to mount on the above tool, freeing up a hand previously required to hold the torch.

Yesterday while walking my 🐶 (on a leash) two labs appeared out of nowhere from behind us and beat 🐶 up. It happened so quickly. 😭 So much for social distancing in the puppy world. 😡

🐶 got four puppy stitches but resting comfortably with the help of puppy Vicodin. (I hope 🐶 doesn’t need them all. 😬 )

So, I ordered two body armor vests with whiskers for Minnesota and the desert.

So sorry that your dog got beaten up. I hope he/she recovers quickly!

great, now the other dogs are not going to beat him/her up but bully him/her for that armor..

is this a real thing??

EDIT: nevermind, i googled it, it IS a real thing o_O supposedly for coyote protection.. wow I learned something today :D our dogs would rather die than wear something like that.. even a coat in winter makes them go nuts and rub themselves on the floor until you take it off..

Thank you. I sense the little warrior is milking this a bit. 🙄

Lol! I don’t know which is more humiliating: wearing body armor with whiskers or being beat up by two labs?

I’m not sure how this will go over. In the desert I leave the doors open so 🐶 wanders in and out at will. The risk for coyotes is low but moderate for 🐿 or 🦆 attacks.

It’s a mean mean world.

Geez, Labs are usually pretty laid back - maybe they're in primitive survival mode - and umm, yes, maybe you should set a few aside, you know, in case the, er, dog, needs them later ...

Labs are wonderful dogs. I can’t figure that out either. But there we were minding our own affairs when suddenly 🐶 was gobbled up like a piece of popcorn.

The owners were an elderly couple just sitting in their car. My assumption is they were letting the labs run rather than having just got away from them. Minor injury that didn’t need to happen though.
