Thanks for the explanation. I'm still not completely clear - what is your expectation on the price you will pay when the vehicle does actually arrive? Is it going to be a sticker price sale (unless there are some incentives that may be in place when the time arrives)? Does the dealer commit to not marking up the price above sticker, at least?

It is completely understandable that dealers will not be doing much if any discounting at this point in time. I don't know if that also applies to things like Costco pricing, companies that have deals in place via credit unions, and so forth? And there may still be some incentive for dealers to be competitive if you are in a market where there are multiple dealers for the same brand, but our current situation is a bit unprecedented I think, which is why I'm curious. You are in Phoenix so there are many dealers for you to shop from. Fortunately my wife and I both have new enough vehicles that we do not need (or want) to purchase anything new right now.

Bronco leadtime - crazy! I have noticed a few on the roads here but not many.
I guess it's up to the individual dealers to work out the details. Since I did a special order, my truck will be built to my specifications (color, options, etc)... and we have a "sticker price" (MSRP, if you will)... and we established a base price for my trade... and here's where it gets strange... the numbers are set, but not absolutely "fixed". The sticker price of the truck won't change, but obviously, my trade will continue depreciating between now and when my truck arrives... so I have a ballpark price for the deal, but can re-negotiate to a better price when the vehicle arrives, and any incentives in place at the time will also be applied.

In my case, the dealer has agreed to honor the current $2,000 incentive if there isn't something more beneficial to me in place at the time (hopefully it's worth more that the paper that it's written on)... or, if I cannot get the deal done to my liking, I get a refund of my deposit and walk away - having wasted 8-10-12-?? weeks in the process... so as I see it, the dealer wins, because if I buy, he knows what he's getting (more or less) and if I walk, he has another truck for his inventory.

But what else are you going to do? It's freaking crazy out there.

Thanks. Sounds reasonable. It's also nice to be getting one that is exactly how you have specified. I have never done that but in the past it was more desirable (for me anyway) to purchase something that the dealer had in his inventory, than wait for a delivery a few weeks or more later. But that was back when dealer inventories were pretty large and it wasn't tough to find something that was pretty much what I wanted anyway.

It will be interesting to see how this all adjusts over the next year or two, if we get back to the same situation that existed previously, or if dealers and manufacturers will try to shift to something in between that means lower inventories and less need for incentives to move vehicles sitting around. My last purchase was a GMC pickup where I received a 10K discount from the sticker price (MSRP, yes). That was a pretty sweet deal . . . 6 years ago.

Follow up post:

Got a call yesterday afternoon that the Ranger that I found "in transit" arrived at the dealership, and it was mine if I wanted it. Not a perfect match equipment-/feature-wise, but pretty close. Went down, did the deal, cancelled my pre-order, and drove this one home.

Sure. Depend on the budget. For 1000$/€, you can have something decent. Best is to go to an auditorium to try different things. You can check also specialist forum like avsforum but be careful there can be a lot of toxic people on these kind of forums. It is worth having a look.

Personally I use 2 floor stand speakers from KEF (Q700) with a Rotel RA-12. You can check other brands like Focal, Dali, Klipsch, Bowers & Wilkins.

Finally managed to obtain a PS5. Got it fair and square from Wal-Mart on a lucky drop last month. Work gave me a grip of Amazon Cash so I picked up an extra controller, charger, 3D Audio wireless headphones and a stand along with a few games.
Congrats on getting a PS5. Still haven't been able to get one... but not giving up. You would think I would have a harder time getting a RTX 30 series GPU card, but I was able to 3090 and 3070 in 2020, and a 3080 this year... Last week I gave up my EVGA 3080 Queue notification to the next person... since I have no use for another one. Hopefully 2022 is the year.

Congrats and very nice setup! I scored my PS5 back in July of 2021 thru Target with same-day in-store pickup and I've been playing the heck out of it - enjoy ?

I got mine back in November after trying for months. I used the now in stock website along with the thread they use on Telegram. If you’re in the US, this is a good way to get the scoop, but still have to be lucky. I found the Amazon restock notification to be the easiest if you are a prime member with one-touch ordering ?

Thanks to @kikote for posting a pic of his KALLAX shelves in his office, and linking the AIBOO RGB Color Changing LED Under Cabinet Lights Kit 8 Packs of Aluminum Slim Puck Lights in the "Post Your Mac Setup: Past & Present" thread. I was debating to just stick battery operated RGB Puck Lights... but glad I went with the AC adapter. It comes with double sided tape, but I also screwed in the pucks with the included screws so they don't fall off in the future. Only regret is I should have bought 2 x 4 pack's so I could alternate the colors.

I'm getting my floors redone... so I installed wheels on my KALLAX shelves so it's easier to roll it out.

My girlfriend and I have been together 13 years. We decided to never actually get married but we went looking at rings and she fell in love with this one so I snuck back and bought it later the same day. Should be sized and on the way back in another week or so.

I love my Sonos beam. Bought that and two of the surround speakers. They do a great job. Going to buy the larger arc when we get a new place along with the sub.

Bought these Stanley Fatmax wire strippers for some DIY electrical work I'm doing. They do a great job of cutting and stripping insulation from cable..
